Efficiency or Sustainability Improvements:

Led and Compact Florescent Light Bulbs. FSC Certified Wood, recycled and local building materials, Non-Toxic Products, Rain Barrels, Recycled Materials, Super Insulated Walls/ Roof using Soy based closed cell spray foam

My Motivation:

To not use fossil fuels and to reduce energy costs. We have three goals that motivated us to rehab this 1830 home. To keep it's historic integrity, to build green, sustainable and non toxic and to have net zero energy.

Advice:

The return on investment has improved even since we bought our system in 2010. Look ahead, not in front of you.
