Description:

Wind generators Welcome to our home...Our home features a 10Kw Bergey wind turbine on a 120' guided lattice tower. The system is grid-tied. Blades are 11 feet long for a diameter of 23'. In addition to the wind turbine we have a 4.2Kw Sun Power PV system so we take advantage of both wind and sun. On site will be our 1986 Nissan 300zx converted to all electric. We have installed a GE GeoSpring hybrid (electric heat pump) hot water heater that extracts heat from the cellar so that it does not have to use the electric elements unless there is high demand. We also installed a Mitsubishi high efficiency(23 SEER) air source heat pump that heats the majority of the house. Turbine generates on average 8000 Kwh/year. Solar array generates on average 4700 Kwh/year. Water tank uses approx 1800Kwh/year. Car will go 25-30 miles on a charge. We have stopped using propane for heat and hot water.
