It pretty much produces all of the electricity our home needs. We're not having to keep a close eye on our thermostat in the summer either. We also like the Enphase system. It allows us to follow the trends of electricity daily and alerts us if there's ever a problem. In a word, I would say our system has provided a freedom we had forgotten what it was like to enjoy. We also like that the owners return our calls whenever we have questions. We have heard stories from friends about how they can't get anyone to return their calls. Our advice is to select a local installer that has good references.

What You Need to Know

Description:

Our system is mounted on a fresh composition pad that was laid to replace the light weight tile we had before the install. Valley Solar Electric was able to get the area of roof replaced at a very reasonable rate. It looks great as it is skirted with the tiles around the perimeter.

Maintenance Requirements:

A little washing off from time to time. We have pine trees and a dirt lot near by.

My Motivation:

Hi electric bills and the ability to charge an electric car in the future.

Advice:

Speak with the owner(s) of the company you are thinking about hiring and a couple of their customers.

Experience with Installer:

Valley Solar Electric is a local company. Paul heads up sales and project management. Fred handles the installation and electrical components plus deals with the building departments. They are a great team and are able to clearly communicate each intricate aspect of the project.
