Avoid

Avoid SunKey at all costs. Sunkey took our money, did about half of the work, then abandoned the project for several months. When we asked when the project would be complete, they just did not respond. We had open trenches in our yard for 10 months. We had to hire a lawyer to force them to finish the project. It was still slow-rolled after that, but it was finally completed about a year after we signed the contract. They promised us that they’d reimburse us for our power bills and difference in tax credits (from 2019-2020), but never did. When our lawyer tried to get them to pay up, they threatened to declare bankruptcy to avoid paying. We’re out thousands of dollars in legal fees, tax credit losses, and power bill losses. However, judging from news reports, we got off easy compared to other people who have dealt with SunKey. Run a Google search for “SunKey News” before doing business with them.

Don't Walk, RUN!!!!!!!

Oct 2019, I signed a contract with Sunkey Energy for Solar to be installed end of the year 2019. Sunkey Missed three dates to do the install in December of 2019. Oh, by the way Sunkey Invoiced Generations Credit Union where I obtained the loan for 80% of total, a day after I signed the contract. $38,714.40 sent to Sunkey. Money that to date has never been returned. We reconvened, and came up with an addendum to the original contract this was February 2020. We agreed to the terms and we both signed the contract. New Install date was 4/28/2020.Sunkey Missed the date, blamed Covid. Retained a Lawyer in June 2020, served papers and began to negotiate a resolution. After dragging his feet, the Owner Nick Azari kept changing the agreement. My ask was simple, pay back the funds, or honor the contract he did neither. Only found ways to keep stalling. The last time I asked to have the contract honored and install the solar equipment, or pay back the credit union funds, Azari opted not to do the install saying I would be a difficult customer and would complain, then commenced to put together costs he incurred for the job and wanted to take that off the money to be paid back. Really????!!! I can’t for the life of me understand why I would pay for fees on a job never completed. Azari’s answer I can use the permits and studies with another company. I check with several other local solar installers and they said no they would not honor those, so essentially, they are useless. He has also asked for restock fees, for panels he stated no longer exist, just another way to try and extort money from me. To date, I have paid the Credit Union for a Solar Install I never got, I have paid 5055.82 thus far and about 5000.00 in legal fees. This guy has put my family and I under so much stress in addition to the fun Covid year, it is amazing we are all still sane! https://youtu.be/C_nLH0A3vTk - 400 Days later and still have not received a solar install or a complete refund!!!!!! I have been in contact with others who have experienced the same issue from Azari, so anyone reading this please reach out to me so we can work together to get him to do the right thing. Please help me with legal fees!!!! https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-me-sue-sunkey-energy-and-generations-cu?utm_source=customer&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_campaign=p_cf+share-flow-1

They do not hold dates and are terrible communicators

Do not use this company or its sister company Arion Energy. I signed a contract with Sunkey Energy to install solar in one of our buildings over a year ago and month after month they have created excuses why it isn't done. When I originally signed a contract with them they promised me it all panels would be installed within three months. The last communication I had with Nick Azari he told me he couldn't talk to me for a week because he had other proposals he was working on. They sign people up use their money to get new clients and keep on pushing deadlines and deadlines. I have been persistent with asking why this isn't done yet and they have given me the runaround. Every month for the last 4 months they have given me a deadline and then just blown by it without communication. I recently talked to someone who used to work for them, since every staff member I originally communicated with either to got let go or left on their own and they informed me this company has a history of pushing back on deadlines and not delivering what they had agreed to. He also informed me that most of their installers had quit. Overall this is not a reputable company nor is their sister company Airon Energy.

ÇOMPLETLY SATISFIED

I obtained detailed proposals from three suppliers and Sunkey came in slightly below one of the others, and way below that of one well-known large outfit. I am pleased with Sunkey's choice of panel/inverter configuration for my particular location. It was a pleasure to work with a locally-owned supplier very attentive to their customer's needs.. The arrays have performed flawlessly, and minor problems with the monitoring system were addressed quickly with no loss of data. To those considering solar - understand the number of different approvals/inspections required for your location. My location required 3 or4, each one entering a queue for sign-off.

All's well that ends well

After resolving a couple of hiccups....the installation was completed and is working beautifully. Almost any significant project will have some issues to deal with...it's how they are resolved that counts. Job well done.
