Description:
Off Grid PV Frank and Shari's 1st system is grid-tied with a battery bank. It consists of twelve 160 watt Shell panels with Xantrex inverter and 660 AHr of Concorde AGM batteries The main part of the house is fed by the solar sub-panel with larger appliances and garage left on the grid. A second grid-tied array was added in early 2010; 3.68 kW nominal feeding a 4 kW Fronius inverter. Heat and domestic hot water is provided by a wood-burning Tarm wood gasification boiler.
