Description:
Solar domestic hot water system based on a kit made by Butler Sun Solutions pre-heats Rinnai propane fired demand heater.
Maintenance Requirements:
top up fluid level in collector over-flow tank every 18 months
Efficiency or Sustainability Improvements:
Replaced original propane water heater tank with a Rinnai tankless demand heater in 2010

Advice:
Butler Sun system is undersized for northern climates. I would have added 1 or 2 more collectors to my south facing wall.
Additional Notes:
Had to mount collectors to south facing wall rather than ans ideal roof, so added 1 additional collector to account for lack of tilt. System performs best in spring/fall.
