The Franchere Education Center is an integral part of the Mabee Farm's educational programs that tell the story of the Mohawk Valley's self-sufficiency and leadership in innovation, through the 300 years of the Mabee Family's homestead along the River. The Mabee Farm Historic Site is a preservation and educational project of the non-profit Schenectady County Historical Society. The farm was founded in 1670 and the farmhouse was built in 1706. The Farm is opened to the public and has an extensive school program for 4th and 7th grade elementary school classes.

The Mabee Farm is on NYS Rt. 5S that parallels the NYS Thruway. From the East, take Exit 26, to 5S West. From the West, take Amsterdam Exit 27, turn right to 5S East. www.mabeefarm.org Free coffee & tea will be served 10-4. Our Solar Picnic Pavilion is available for your lunch breaks ( bring your own food). Our parking lot is available for those wanting to car-pool to other Green Building Sites. At Farm- Fiber Fair 10-4 Artists weave, spin, quilt, hook, crochet, etc.
