The Tarm Excel boiler can burn wood VERY efficiently and then automatically switch over to Fuel Oil when the wood runs out. Our system is set up so that the Evacuated Tubes heat a 900 gallon heat storage tank. As long as the tank is above 110 degrees F, the oil burner stays off. Generally, the burner is off from March to December. I can easily burn wood if desired.
