My wife Lois and I have always dreamed of building an energy efficient home and finally it is completed. We moved into the house in June 2015. We have 78 solar panels on the south facing roof, low-e glass and fully encapsulated foam insulation. The PV panels provide 60-70% of the electricity needs in the summer months. In addition we have geothermal heating and cooling. In the summer months the geothermal system provides free hot water as a by-product of cooling the house.
