What You Need to Know
Description:
6.2 Kw system with REC pv panels and a Solar Edge inverter.
Efficiency or Sustainability Improvements:
Also had new HE Carrier 2 stage heat pump installed. A.C is my biggest energy user.
My Motivation:
Climate change and increasing energy costs
Advice:
Get several bids. Don't let high pressure sales tactics push you into a purchase. Remember that government incentives are TAX CREDITS not REBATES. If you are of modest income tax liability, it will take several years to get a benefit from your taxes.
Experience with Installer:
Arizona Southwest Solar was great to work with. They handled the permitting and were liaisons with my electric company. The crew was efficient, polite and knowledgeable.
Additional Notes:
The process was quite streamlined. There is a bit of a wait for an installation because renewable energy is in high demand in my area. I liked the sales rep very much. She was upfront about what I should and should not expect. She gave me a realistic picture of what solar could do for me.
