What You Need to Know

Description:

We purchased 43 panels with an independent inverter for each panel. We also had to have the pane electrical panel on the house upgraded to a larger panel.

Other Benefits:

Energy savings and better for the environment.

Maintenance Requirements:

TBD... System was just installed

Efficiency or Sustainability Improvements:

My Motivation:

Wanted to save money

Advice:

SHOP AROUND! The original quote we received was near $80,000. Once we signed on with Energy Sage, we received 5 estimates in the $35,000 to $40,000 range. Also, pay the extra to have wire mesh installed to the sides of your panels. This will prevent birds from building nests under your panels.

Experience with Installer:

Our installers were great. It was a bit noisy during the install (I work from home), but it was a minor inconvenience. Be sure to get everything in writing.

Additional Notes:

There was some structural damage to the stucco on the house when the electrical subcontractor installed the new electrical panel on the outside of the house. The Solar company fixed it right away, so that was a positive result to a bad situation.
