GBOH Host Registration

Welcome to GBOH!

We're so glad you're interested in sharing your property as part of the Green Buildings Open House tour! EnergySage is working with NESEA to host the Open House tour’s online component. Here, you can share details about your property, its clean energy systems and other sustainability enhancements you have made. You also can invite others interested in sustainable energy to visit and learn about your property during the GBOH on October 5, 2013.

The process is simple. Here's an overview:

  1. Create an EnergySage account
  2. Create a case study
    1. Check the NESEA GBOH 2013 Host Event Participation checkbox
    2. Add any relevant details in Open House Info
  3. If you have multiple clean energy systems, you can create a case study for each of them
  4. Welcome visitors to your property on October 5, 2013

Create an EnergySage Account

If you don't already have an account on, click Join and follow the instructions. We'll send you an email message with an activation link to verify your address and complete the registration process.

On future visits to the site, you can access your account with the Sign In link in the top right corner of every page.

Create a Case Study

From the Your Profile page, accessible from a link in the top right corner of every page after you've signed in, click the Add New Case Study button. This will take you to a form where you can enter information about your property and clean energy improvements. Enter as much information as you like, and you can always edit this case study later.

To indicate your interest in participating in this year's Green Buildings Open House tour, you simply need to check the NESEA Green Buildings Open House 2013 Host checkbox in the System Details section near the end of the form. If you don't check this key checkbox, your case study won't show up on the GBOH host listings.

If there are other details visitors might need to know about your property when they come for the open house, you can include them in the Open House Information field. This might include what hours you're accepting visitors or driving directions if your street address isn't enough by itself.

In addition to environmental benefits, EnergySage highlights the financial benefits of clean energy system ownership. You can enter your annual energy bill savings as well as up-front cost, which will automatically generate a Return on Investment (ROI) calculation for you.

EnergySage also includes profiles, ratings and reviews of installers, brands and financing institutions. We encourage you to name the companies you worked with on your system, then rate and review them to let the community know how it went. Share Your Experience

We also encourage you to upload images of your property to help give visitors a sense of what to expect and show off how beautiful clean energy can be!

Have Multiple Systems?

Each case study is specific to one energy system to allow more accurate financial details and experiences with each technology. If your property features multiple systems -- for example, solar PV and geothermal -- you can create a case study for each system. Just click the same Add New Case Study button on the Your Profile page to provide details for each additional system.

Welcome Your Visitors

On October 5, 2013, open your doors to GBOH visitors. If there's something specific a visitor would need to know about your property in advance of their visit, please include it in the Open House Information field of your case study.

If you're interested in opening your property on days in addition to the main event on October 5, you can include that in the Open House Info field as well. Just please be specific about hours, days of the week, or specific dates (including year) to avoid confusion.
