Solar panels not working and no response from PEG

Very disappointed, within less than a year of installation, they stopped working. No response from PEG. Now I end up paying thousands of dollars for nothing. I should have not installed solar panels

PEG Solar is a con business

We signed with peg solar in September 2019 after lot of delays in questions being answered and final layout. We did wait patiently for them to install for 90 days as promised but after when we called for updates we were redirected a lot. Finally we got hold of Joe who informed us that our project has not moved from months and they do not have any updates and asked us to wait another 30 days as their contract says 90-120 days. After 20 days we tried to get updates because we did not hear anything from them and same very hard to get hold of anyone who can give us update. Finally we got a call back from Joe who suggested it is going to take and if you want we can cancel the project and we agreed and he said we will send you an update email of cancellation. It’s been several months now and we are not able to get hold of anyone. We have tried several times to get our money back but they have our project cancelled in their system but noone to let us know when we are going to get our money back. Never going to recommend them. We are stuck as they have lot of our money and in these bad times we are not able to get any answers. PEG solar takes new customers and their money and then tries to satisfy old customers if they can, and the vicious cycle never ends. Don't get stuck in this cycle. These guys should not be in business. Its highly unethical and pure thievery.

Very satisfied - a few hiccups

I was very satisfied overall with my project. 12.9 KW system with no batteries. in Charlotte, NC. The initial sales process was great. They patiently answered all of my questions and addressed my concerns. They provided several references for older and new jobs/projects that they had completed. Once I signed the papers the process was very smooth. They completed as much of the paperwork as possible and made the process very smooth. They also submitted all of the paperwork with Duke Energy to ensure I got the energy company rebate. The installation process got off to a slow start due to rain and projects getting backed up. My installation started about two months after we projected completion. The actual installation took only one day and the crew was great and professional. The only issue I faced post-install was a single solar panel wasn't working while everything else was online. It took several months to get the one panel online, which annoyed me and took many calls, but this is my only major complaint with the whole process. I received the energy rebate and the federal tax credit as expected. The only cost surprise was from Duke Energy, Instead of paying a $0 bill monthly (when the sun is shining) I have to pay $15/month for the Duke connection fee (not a big deal but thought it was worth mentioning). Overall, I would do solar again and I would recommend PEG.

BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!

I chose this company because of the price and initial opinion of the company. Now I regret ever having considered solar at all. I signed up in August 2019, it is now almost the end of February 2020. The company president, J Ordia, verbally assured me a timely installation, that a couple months would see the project completion. For them to do the project I needed to make a $6,200 alteration to the roof, I completed in a week of the contract signing. They contacted me in October wanting more money to purchase materials for this project. They contacted me in December looking for more funds to do the project a different way than quoted. Other than that they have never contacted me without my prompting. They always have some lame excuse. and they will try to get to my project. The end of the year passed and the end of that government incentive. Anyway, this is awful. This company in my opinion should not be in business. I am certain I will have to go to court to get my expenses returned. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!

Hybrid in Powhatan, Va

We have been in our house now a full year with our Hybrid Solar System. I wanted to wait a full year before commenting on it all. Signing up was easy. There was a small delay with the permit, but their team handled it. The install took a few days longer because it was sleeting 2 of the 4 days they were here. The men that came were very professional and polite. Since the installation, I have had no issues or service calls. I was worried about that since I had read reviews that seemed like the new technology might have some glitches. Anyway, it’s been a year and my electric bill has been cancelled out. We lost power multiple times and everything worked as it should. I haven’t had to press any buttons or anything. People come over and see it and many comment on how clean the wiring was done. I 100% recommend them.
