This Company has been kicked off of ILSFA for a darn good reasons. They are a scam and scum of the earth. They sign contracts then don't honor them. They lie about every thing!!! They burn through employees as fast as the screw over customers. DO NOT EVER EVEN CONTACT THESE PEOPLE!!!

Terrible experience. I would say look around at other companies if you can. We signed up with them at the beginning of the year and they said that’s a “perfect time to sign up so we can get our solar panels installed and crediting our power account all summer while it’s sunny to help with the bill in the winter.” Now they have pushed back our installation date twice. Even though they said we’re up to be scheduled soon. Now they have pushed installation back to the end of summer so we’re worried we’re not going to get enough credit to help in the winter. ALSO when you sign a loan from them, they give you a year before you start making payments. Now half a year has gone by and we have nothing to show for it. And the news says that the state of IL is taking forever to give out the government refund checks for installation that GRNE said would take our loan (and our payments) way down. So far all I see is that they are screwing us over on a bad deal and we’re going to pay for it. More interest and money for them if we don’t get the money from the government right? We have been pushed back twice (so far) and who knows how many more time before they of ever come out and do what they claim they will actually do. My father in law went with another company AFTER we signed up with this one. He’s had his solar panels set up and working for months now and GRNE just keeps pushing our date back. GRNE never reaches out and keeps us updated, once we sign for the loan we don’t hear from them. We have to keep emailing and asking for updates. I would suggest going with with another company!!!

In September 2019 GRNE installed my 8.0 KWP system. I also added 9.8 KWH LG battery back-up system. Because I live in unincorporated Cook County they had to go through grueling process of obtaining permit from CC Building and Zoning ( believe me, it is not easy task, I know I built my house here) which took about 3 months. For people living in unincorporated area: take the company already familiar with application process for permit here, it will save you a lot of time. Installation was done very quickly, small problems were resolved immediately. Cook County inspector came on the job site first day and talked to electrician about all the county requirements for installation. GRNE does not subs out electrical work, they have their own licensed electricians. Inspector was very pleased with final product. The system worked with no problems from day 1. I wanted to change setting for how my battery is operating and I reached out for help to SolarEdge (inverter manufacturer) unfortunately response was not too good. I asked GRNE guys to help me with changing programming of the system and after few days of testing different programs on my system they were able to program it the way I needed. Project manager Ed is very busy and it takes sometimes couple of days to get response from him, however our salesman Ryan was very responsive and in case Ed was not able to answer right away, we got fast answer from him. GRNE also process SREC refund from ComEd not like the most of other companies which use third party to do it. I highly recommend this young, enthusiastic group of people trying to do really high quality job.

I did not buy my solar panels through GRNE. they were, however, the installers for my Solar purchase through another Solar Provider, Tron Solar. Once I was in contact with GRNE, I had great response time regarding my questions and concerns regarding my install. From the office to the installers and electricians and technicians, my install went very well. There were delays due to weather as well as normal to high demand in solar customers (which is understandable), but even then the people I encountered through phone and in person were very professional, courteous and efficient. All in all, I just felt like it was good ol' customer service where you get quick response time and a job well done and done right. P.S. I am a customer through install only and not a purchase so I can't really rate value, but I still gave 5 stars as it is probably consistent with my other experiences with GRNE.

Customer care is a joke. Ask a lot of questions they will give you the run around worse then any career politicians. I only gave one star because you can't give a negative number.
