"RUN AWAY!!!!!"
Reviewed May 15, 2019

Stay away from Priv-Energy. The salesman made all kinds of statements and none were true. The system was incomplete and the install damaged my walls, which they never repaired. Roof tiles broken and not repaired. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. System under-performs what was told to homeowner. Call for more details: 719-480-9999.
Use anyone but these people and I don't care what state they run to - stay away!!

If I could give negative stars, this company would not even get that. I do not even have words to describe how horrible these people are. Starting from their salespeople up the chain.....These people lie to you, tell you things like you will have a zero FPL bill, if you want to move and take your panels it will only cost $1500, you can monitor your system online etc.... I could go on and on. These people are unprofessional to say the least. It took months to get my system installed and months to get the system turned on. Their installers damaged my roof and then took months to come and fix it. After that the installer put a lien on my home because of some dispute with Priv-Energy, even though Priv-Energy was paid by my finance company all the money within minutes of me signing the contract months prior but did not want to pay them. On top of that, they now want to charge me almost $5k to bring down my panels and reinstall them because I had hurricane damage to my roof. They knew this from the beginning yet they never told me it would be this much money after getting paid $20k to install the system just 1 year ago. I now have to pay to whatever it is they want to charge me because if I go with another installer, they will void my warranty. To say the least, if you are thinking of going green that is all great. But these companies and their crooked sales people are the ones that make this idea a really bad experience. I can't stress enough! DO YOUR RESEARCH. DO NOT LET THEM PRESSURE YOU INTO SIGNING ANYTHING. GET OTHER QUOTES. Do not let them tell you if you don't sign now, you will lose the best price. It is a bunch of crap. They had people calling the finance company at 8 pm to secure the loan. My husband speaks Spanish and all the documents to have him sign were in English. Go figure....

Believe every negative review you read. Don't let their salesman spin it. The panels have shown no savings and because of the price have raised my energy costs almost 3X what they were before panels. Nobody has gotten back to me in 3 months of phone calls and emails. The only thing that was promised that came true are that there are physical panels on my roof. Tint you windows, service your a/c and you will save more than you every will by doing business with PrivEnergy.

We added a whole home solar system with Priv. Install took a week when we were told 2 days. Within a few months we saw absolutely NO improvement in our bills so they installed an Energy management box (essentially a governor that keeps you from using too much energy during high demand times, which is something you could do on your own frankly). After going round and round, several emails and calls later Priv added one more panel to our home. They still have 17 panels noted in their system and we were not home when the panel was added so unless we get up on the roof we really don't have confirmation of an 18th panel. After one full year we asked for a system analysis as our bills were still not coming down enough for us to save money considering our monthly solar payment. I started the request for an review in October of 2018 and go the run-around for literally months. Would not return my calls or emails for days or most of the time weeks. Was told I could get a call "ASAP' for weeks on end. I finally got a report sent to me in December and they offered to have an electrician come out to evaluate our energy management system. He said all was well and adjusted the settings so we could actually use it without our AC refusing to kick on. We were then told by Priv that our panels were producing as promised and that our demand charges were too high (seems to be a common talking point looking at other reviews and complaints)Their own documentation shows we are 830 short on KWH for 2018. SRP documentation confirms this. At this point we are at least $500 in the hole on our energy costs in 2018 alone - since putting solar panels on our house. The owner is well aware of how unhappy we are and passes things off to an administrative assistant. He has not contacted us and we have no resolution.

I have discovered it is impossible to compare apples to apples with solar installation companies. They all seem to have deals with equipment makers to carry their equipment as one of the only companies in the area do do so. This works out well for them but not so much for the customers. I tried three different companies to get an apples to apples estimate for the number of and equipment I wanted installed. Since only Priv Energy seems to work with this stuff that is who I went with. I cannot attest to their high/low value on the equipment either as I could not compare. While their paperwork does not come forth with any actual makes/models/sizes of equipment I had to ask a few times, like 5, to get a quote with the equipment I would be getting so I could check the going rates for said equipment. Personally I think the estimates of their profit are a bit high but as a business person myself we do cap our TOTAL OVERHEAD AND PROFIT charges at 30%. But that is just me. I was surprised that the local permitting board requested revisions as I thought the company I chose was familiar with Arizona requirements. I hope and pray that I have solar up and going by August and that all else goes well. I will provide a final review at that time.
