My wife and I moved into a home in Albemarle County in April 2018 and immediately started shopping around for a solar installer. After doing a lot of research, I found several more expensive options that bundled home efficiency improvements with the installation costs and other options that tried to upsell you into producing more power than you need.

Here's the thing with solar in Virginia - if you produce more than you use, you 'bank it' against future months where you produce less than you use. But if you have any extra kWh in your
'bank' at the end of the year, you lose it. So it's not worth buying a system that _always_ produces more than you use... rather you should buy a system that produces, over the course of the year, what you expect to use in total.

Jeff helped us understand that and bid very competitively on energysage.com for our business. He was prompt, courteous, efficient and communicated excellently. We got exactly what we asked for at the best price I could find. I think the whole process from putting down a deposit with Jeff to getting the net meter installed was less than a month.

I just got my first electrical bill from Dominion after the first full month (August 2018) of having a 10 kW installed and my bill was $6 (100% of that is the grid connection fee).

We chose Blue Star Energy for our solar installation because they use quality materials, including German developed panels. We requested the panels be mounted high on a steel structure that doubles as a car port. We watched the process from start to finish, and at all times proper techniques were used. Three years and many weather events later, all is still intact, and the system provides about 60% of our all electric power usage, without any glitches or problems so far. That is from 24 panels, and we are tied to the grid.

BlueStar was wonderful to deal with, Jeff and crew were there when they said they would be. Finished the job when they said they would finish. We are very happy with the results of much lower electric bills.

Jeff at BlueStar Solar did a great job installing our solar back in 2016 and it has been producing enough energy that with the exception of a couple of very hot months our bill has been only for the lease on the meter.
Jeff is knowledgeable and helped us decide on the best system for our needs. He is a professional and his customer service is excellent.

They did a 36 panel install for me awhile back. It has been flawless from day one! I forget I even have it until I get my electric bill. I highly recommend Jeff and the equipment he sells!
