Very Disappointed in Installation efforts
I spent over $100000 for a system and it has been 4 months + since I signed the contract. The contractors doing the installation seem to be unprepared.
From the dig ( lots of equipment breakdowns) For the Panel installation (one ground mount was installation of 50 panels, was done very well, the second set of panels (55) was done poorly with small and large gaps between the panels with wires exposed). The contractors did not have caps to close off the support rails for the panels. The open rails allow bees to build nest in them. I was promised that I would get the caps, but no progress on that yet. The electricians still have not hooked up the very large wires that run from the panels to the power pole.
When the electricians finally set up with my electric company to come out. But when they showed up they we not prepared to to close in the wires and the pipes were not lined up with the power boxes, so CPS shut down my power for 4 hours and nothing was done. My son was told my the electricians that they would be coming back on Monday (today), but no show. Now I am waiting for CPS to reschedule and finally get the power turned on. Very frustrating for me. I sit and see my panels in the back yard , but no progress.
The sales Rep was very helpful and every time I contact him he calls and tries to get something done. It seems that upper management just doesn't care, or want to be bothered. I guess the bigger jobs don't take precedence. Hope others have better luck with this company.
Update May 19 2019.
!(PLEASE READ ALL OF THIS BEFORE SIGNING ANYTHING)!
I know this is a lot of information, but you can use this.
Well they finally finished my hook up and CPS came out and put in the meters.
The installer (Electrician) helped me set up the SW to monitor the system. I really like the SW. It is very nice and does all the things + that the electrician told me about. It even finds specific equipment running in your home and monitors when they are one for each thing. So thumbs up on the Software.
As for Momentum. I still have not got the caps for the solar system supports. I tried calling and left messages for the salesman, but no answer so far. So my conclusion is they will not provide the end caps for the framing and just want to avoid this. They also never came out and finished clipping up the wires under the panels and realign the panels. It really sucks that they can't do the install correctly or care enough to fix this issue.( I recommend that you don't sign off on anything until the job is completely done correctly) my mistake.
Now one other warning for anyone doing this:
I was told over and over again that my loan payment would start 60 days after my installation and power was turned on. Please Don't believe this at all!!!! They definitely are lying to you. I got a statement lat month from the bank. $0 due in May. I called the salesman and he told me again that my billing will not start until the power is connected. They connected my power this week on Wednesday 15 May 2019. I just received a bill from the bank for my payment due 3 June 2019. I called the bank and they said have to pay regardless since this is what the company set up with them. Not their fault the company was slow on the installation.
So now I have a payment and a bill from the electric company.
THIS SUCKS!. I am trying to get in touch with someone from the company to pay my electric bill for the next 2 months. This is only fair since they told me I would not have overlapping bills. No contact yet.
So, I guess I get my lawyer involved now....
If you are reading this, Don't use this company at all. They may have good products and SW, but they don't tell the truth and they definitely don't care once you sign the contract.
Hope this helps.
