What You Need to Know

Description:

Grid Tied PV Julianne and Mark invite you to their Boyertown home to see their 12.88 kW photovoltaic system. We had been considering installing solar for several years, but when we heard that our electricity prices may go up as much as 30% in January of 2011, that was a big incentive. The incentives provided by Pennsylvania and the Federal government cut almost 50% off the cost of the system.

Efficiency or Sustainability Improvements:

Non-Toxic Products, garden composting, vermicomposting

Open House Info:

From Route 100 South from the North: Take the Route 73 (Boyertown/Gilbertsville) exit. Go left on Route 73 West toward Boyertown. Approximately one mile to the left on Route 562 West. 2.2 miles to left on Douglass Drive. 1.5 miles to left on Grist Mill Road. First left onto Valley Brook Road. 55 Valley Brook Road is the 3rd house on the right. From Route 422: Take the Route 100 North exit and travel approximately 7 miles to the exit for Route 73 West. Follow the Route 100 North directions from there. The photovoltaic system was designed to produce 89% of our electricity. However, because of the optimal placement of our ground-based system and slightly more efficient panels than originally planned, on an annual basis we are actually projected to produce about 101% of our electricity this year. In the first 9 months of production we have produced 12.2 MWh!
