What You Need to Know

Description:

Roof mounted solar array

My Motivation:

Energy prices have gotten out of hand and I wanted to be able to control the cost. I also wanted to do a little to help conserve our natural resources. I attended a previous Hill Country Solar Tour for information.

Advice:

A street facing installation on our home is the most effective position for producing power. The HOA/developer opposed this, but the law in Texas has been amended to prevent developers from restricting solar installations that are most efficient in that position. I took the new law to the developer/HOA and my solar panels proudly face the street. I researched panels, got quotes from two installers and calculated the size of the PV array that would work for our home.

Open House Info:

October 3, 2015 10:00am-2:00pm. The Hill Country Solar Tour starts at the Liberty Hill PEC office with a solar installer fair, presentations on PEC solar initiatives and activities for the kids. Join us! Open to all, not just PEC members. Learn more at the link below.
