What You Need to Know
Description:
soapstone masonry heater
Other Benefits:
pizza oven
Maintenance Requirements:
empty ashes, load with wood, wash soot off glass doors
Efficiency or Sustainability Improvements:
added insulation, new windows
My Motivation:
benefit the environment, not freeze in my bed when the grid goes down.
Additional Notes:
My site was unsuited for solar panels as I have trees in the way. Also, the small stream was unsuited for microhydro. So, wood seemed to be the only alternative. The system is beautiful, actually.
Open House Info:
Will host an open house Oct 13, 2012.
