What You Need to Know
Description:
This home is part of the National Grid Deep Energy Retrofit Pilot Program. It's a single family Cape in Lexington, which is in the middle of being retrofitted. It is getting new exterior rigid foam insulation, air sealing, new high efficiency gas furnace, new triple glazed R-5 windows, a heat recovery ventilation, efficient lighting. In addition, we're adding shed dormers, adding a bathroom to what was a small second floor, and redoing a very old kitchen.
Other Benefits:
We are looking forward to increased comfort of the home, the more useful and livable finished basement, and to the satisfaction of doing something to save energy and reduce carbon emissions.
