What You Need to Know
Description:
Two 6.86 kW Hybrid Solar systems composed of SunPower 245 Watt panels and SunDrum Thermal collectors that are mounted underneath the PV panels. This arrangement saves roof space and makes the PV panels more efficient, as the heat is drawn off of the PV panels. The cooler the PV panels, the more efficient they become. The byproduct is more electricity and hot water!
Other Benefits:
One of the benefits of using microinverters is that they may increase the systems' productions by as much as 8%. They are also a safer alternative, as AC was run through the home instead of DC and interior or exterior metal conduits were not required. The micro-systems come with an Envoy monitoring system, which will give real-time access to each panel's individual production via the internet. A Locus monitor was also included with each system. It permits the monitoring of both PV and Thermal systems, while automatically reporting production for SRECs.
Maintenance Requirements:
Maintenance and production tracking is performed by the installers. Solar systems require very little maintenance, as they have no moving parts.
My Motivation:
Helping the paridigm shift towards sustainable and clean energy.
Open House Info:
