What You Need to Know

Description:

The Tesla Roadster 2.5 is a 67 Kw, all electric, 2 seater sports car. It goes 240 miles on a charge and takes about 4 hours to fully charge. It's very light, with a 1,000 pound glider of aluminum and carbon fiber provided by Lotus Motors. Lotus flew the rolling glider to LA. Tesla installed the electric motor, 1 speed gear reducer and battery. This was the last production Roadster Model before production was ceased to produce the Tesla Model S.

Other Benefits:

Allows fun transportation regardless of whether or not gasoline is available or affordable. A full "tank" every morning. With zero to the speed limit times of 2-3 seconds, the car is very easy to position in traffic at the lights or merge on the highway. Kind of a FUN safety feature. Smooth too.

Maintenance Requirements:

So far, nothing.

My Motivation:

We wanted to be able to have transportation...no matter what, control transportation costs in retirement and to support Tesla Motors in their quest to mainstream electric vehicles.

Advice:

Solar Energy and Electric Cars are now DOABLE! If you hurry, you can get your new Solar System installed and your new electric car home by the end of this year so you can get your tax credits early next year. CHOP CHOP.

Experience with Installer:

WE hit "BUY NOW" and waited a few months; they delivered it to the house.
