- Additional Financial Notes:
- The Solar system was designed to take advantage of PG&E time of use billing rates. Excess power generated during summer months is credited to the City at peak rates (up to $0.44/kWh). These credits offset a greater amount of power used at night which is priced at lower rates (i.e. one kWh of excess summer solar power will offset five kWh of winter and evening power).

Takes advantage of time of use pricing to save more! The City will save over $4 million in energy costs and save over 5,000 tons of greenhouse gases during the 25yr life of the systems. The annual savings from this solar project are equivalent to the annual operating budget of the City’s Climate Action Program. The project invested $2.25 million into a local construction project that paid prevailing wages during the recent recession.
