Description:

In conjunction with the opening of the Customer Service Operations Center in Dallas, TX on July 29, 2014, Kohl’s unveiled its first ground mounted Solar Tree installation project. Located in the facility’s parking lot, each of the six Solar Trees track the sun, and rotate throughout the day to generate clean, renewable energy for the facility. The solar trees are a visible statement of Kohl’s commitment to solar and energy efficiency.

Other Benefits:

Some the key benefits of the project at the Dallas CSOC, as Kohl’s plans to develop a similar project at another facility. The six Solar Trees will generate approximately 174,000 kWh annually; enough energy to power 700 workstations each year. Each Solar Tree shades 6 parking spaces, for a total of 36 shade-cooled parking spots for associates and guests. Two of the Solar Trees will also be equipped with electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, a free service provided to our associates and guests.
