While I am respectful of the environment, I also needed a system that had a solid ROI. The system I designed met those requirements. I am currently planning on expanding to an additional 40 panels. I have also installed Solar Panels on three of my rental properties.

What You Need to Know

Description:

15 panel ground mount array with REC Solar 230 W panels. Enphase Microinverters

Efficiency or Sustainability Improvements:

• All walls are 2x6 to 2x8 and are foamed for superior insulation • All windows were replaced with Argon gas filled vinyl windows. South-facing windows also have reflective film • Roof replaced in 2013 with Class 5 Hailproof, Fireproof Metal Shingle Roof

My Motivation:

When I bought the property in 2009 the only installers I could find had to come from Austin Texas which significantly increased the cost of the installation. So I founded Arc Solar and Wind, took my NABCEP training classes, obtained my electricians license and worked closely with Critical Systems Electric Group to establish the business now found at www.arcsolarwind.com. We have done a number of installations both commercial and residential in Dallas, Coppell and Denton.

Additional Notes:

While I am respectful of the environment, I also needed a system that had a solid ROI. The system I designed met those requirements and I also adopted the then emerging technology of Micro-Inverters on each panel by Enphase Energy Group. The initial 15 Panels were the first ever permitted for CoServ and the first solar system to be installed in Little Elm Texas. I am currently planning on expanding to an additional 40 panels, which will also be ground mounted in a second row. I have also installed Solar Panels on three of my rental properties in Coppell, TX. Yes I said rental properties, it does in fact make financial sense. When I bought the property in 2009 the only installers I could find had to come from Austin Texas which significantly increased the cost of the installation. We have done a number of installations both commercial and residential in Dallas, Coppell and Denton. My largest site was for Jay Squyres in Flower Mound Texas, with over 134 Enphase Micro Inverters, both roof and ground mounted systems.
