The Network Partnerships Manager will focus on building and managing a network of solar companies who sell turnkey residential and commercial solar installations via the EnergySage Marketplace. Key responsibilities with new partners include managing the pipeline and sales funnel for prospective partners, identifying priority prospects, evaluating prospects’ credentials, and closing sales for participation in the marketplace. Key responsibilities with existing partners include business relationship management, building awareness of new offerings from EnergySage, and soliciting feedback from solar company management on EnergySage’s products and services.

This role requires a strong disposition to B2B sales and relationship management. Comfort and confidence over the phone are imperative, along with organization, communication, and a commitment to high quality service. This confidence should be balanced with humility, empathy, and a genuine interest in improving the experience of solar companies and the solar industry as a whole. The Marketplace Team is the eyes and ears of EnergySage, and the whole company relies on us to listen intently and organize, synthesize, and communicate insights from our day-to-day interactions.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 4-year bachelor degree; Masters degree preferable
  • 2+ years of relevant business development experience

We are the eyes and ears of the company and are on the lookout for someone who connects well with people of many different personality types, is comfortable with autonomy, and is fearless over the phone.

The Solar Advisor serves as an expert in solar energy, helping consumers navigate the process of purchasing solar energy systems for their homes and businesses. The Solar Advisor also supports solar companies in growing their businesses with the EnergySage Marketplace. Background in solar energy is great to have. Most important are enthusiasm for clean energy technologies and a commitment to excellent customer service.

Solar Advisors also support EnergySage’s broader team with their in-depth observations of solar customers and solar companies. One of the most important functions of this role is to channel feedback from both consumers and solar installers to the rest of the company. This requires listening and empathy, organization of data, and synthesis of insights.

Responsibilities

Play an important role in helping the partnerships team identify / contact potential partners and promote solar marketing programs with existing partners.

Strategic partners include organizations like non-profits, businesses, utilities, government, universities, associations, etc. that are interested in promoting solar to their stakeholders (employees, customers, residents, etc).   • Assist in implementing solar programs with existing partners.
  • Regularly compile EnergySage content for partner use.
  • Coordinate email marketing campaigns and email content calendar.
  • Report on program and campaign performance.
  • Research and identify opportunities to increase exposure to prospective strategic partners.
  • Assist in getting new partners set up with EnergySage.
  • Assist in managing partner database and CRM systems.
  • If interested, time will be spent with company executives discussing all aspects of start-ups, including business formation, team-building, product development, financing, etc.

Requirements

  • 3.4 or higher GPA in junior year or higher
  • Prior internship experience in a business environment
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Copywriting experience a plus.
  • Ability to confidently discuss business contract terms in a professional, yet persuasive manner
  • No fear of making cold calls!
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage tasks without regular hand-holding
  • Strong internet research abilities
