What You Need to Know

Description:

We have a fairly simple install situation where all panels could be installed on just one flat section of our roof. Total install time was only about five hours.

Maintenance Requirements:

No maintenance needed. Altair Solar said that due to our weather situation in Southern California, it is not necessary to clean the panels at all. Any dirt buildup will be swept away on rainy days and that's enough.

My Motivation:

Energy cost savings, tax incentives, price of system finally came down to a reasonable price

Advice:

Make sure to check into the warranty situation both in terms of parts AND labor. Check to see if any roofing work will need to be done along with solar prior to finalizing the installation. Make sure to follow up regularly with the solar installation company to ensure the project is moving forward.
