My Motivation:

Door knockers came to door. Potential for making more if and when we sell it. Much smaller power bills.

Advice:

Use something like EnergySage to field quotes and research companies so you know who you are dealing with. 1st door knockers, 0 down, but about $41000 over the time and the sales person lied to me up front. Told me I was paying more per month than I was. So what he quoted me as monthly payments was what I was already paying. 2nd door knocker came, brought down to around $20000 for financing. Asked for licenses and never received those or the quote. Energy sage came through with several quotes, I researched. I like what I am paying cash, and I am going to love the savings. It looks like there will be bills that I don't have to pay at all.
