Worse company ever had to deal with

They are so bad I would only recommend them to my worst enemy.

Use Caution with this lender

There is a per diem on their solar loans which is in addition to the APR of 8%. The amount is $11.10 per day. This was not explained during the loan process and only came to light during the payoff. It may very well be in the policy but was not explained or itemized during the payoff request. This will add thousands of dollars over the lifetime of the loan and possibly annually. Consider using another lender who does not have the hidden cost, or your own financial institution to avoid the excessive fees.

THE MOST HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE

SUNERGY SALES REPRESENTATIVES LIED TO ME ABOUT THE 'REBATE' OR TAX CREDIT I WOULD RECEIVE. I BELIEVE HE CALLED IT A REBATE, WHICH IS QUITE DIFFERENT FROM A TAX CREDIT, BUT REGARDLESS THE AMOUNT OF TAX CREDIT I RECEIVED WAS $4835.00, FAR LESS THAN THE ESTIMATED $13,000+ THAT HE QUOTED. THE LOAN WAS APPARENTLY(?) BASED ON HIS ESTIMATE, WHICH MEANS THAT I HAVE TO COME UP WITH A HUGE SUM OF MONEY IN LESS THAN 1 YEAR OR MY MONTHLY PAYMENTS WILL INCREASE BY $68.35. THAT MAY NOT SEEM LIKE MUCH, BUT 1) THE GOAL WAS TO HAVE LOWER PAYMENTS THAN MY AVERAGE MONTHLY ELECTRIC BILL (IT WON'T BE), AND 2) I'M ON SOCIAL SECURITY SO THIS CHANGE WILL HAVE AN IMPACT ON ME. I WISH I HAD NEVER CHOSEN SUNERGY FOR MY SOLAR PANEL PROVIDER, THEY LIED TO ME AND DIDN'T GIVE ME ALL THE INFORMATION TO MAKE AN INFORMED DECISION. THEY DIDN'T TELL ME THAT I WAS TAKING A LOAN THROUGH GOODLEAP, I THOUGHT I WAS PAYING THE MONTHLY PAYMENTS TO MY ELECTRIC COMPANY. I ALSO BELIEVE I ASKED ABOUT THE INTEREST RATE AND THEY LIED ABOUT THAT AS WELL. I WOULDN'T HAVE CHOSEN GOODLEAP IF I HAD KNOWN IN ADVANCE THAT THE INTEREST RATE WOULD BE SO HIGH. I WILL BE LOOKING INTO REFINANCING THROUGH A DIFFERENT LENDER. 100% UNHAPPY, ANGRY, DISSATISFIED AND LIVID.

GoodLeap will screw you over

In 2022, I financed my solar panels with GoodLeap. While the sales agent didn't tell me that after 18 months my payment to GoodLeap would increase if I had not set up anadditional amount, GoodLeap NEVER reached out,OR communicated with me to see if I was aware of the change UNTIL the week it was increasing. I'm a 100% disabled veteran who got the the solar panels because I nor my 81 yr old mother who is also a 100% veteran could operate a generator. We live in S. Louisiana where hurricanes are common so naturally we needed a power backup. There's been no communications by phone, email OR regular mail for the past 18 months. The week of March 25, 2024 was the FIRST time I received a call from GoodLeap, they kept a voicemail and I called back. The 1st customer service representative didn't even know tge difference between the borrower and co-borrower. I'm the borrower and he kept telling me my information was wrong until I figured out he was looking at the co-borrowers information and I explained the difference. Eventually I was transferred to Garrett White, who then blamed my installer of the solar panels for the lack of communications from GoodLeap. Garrett also would not allow me to complete my sentences and would continue to talk over me. I actually believe Garrett gets a commission for not helping individuals and increasing their monthly payments. Garrett never wanted to escalate the issue to a higher department or individual, he would rather sit there reading the same information like a broken record, this was on Good Friday. I finally, through a recording, found out who Garrett's supervisor was, Emily Neumann, who I immediately reached out to. She also, has been no help as she would rather blame the installers for GoodLeap never reaching out in the past 18 months to make sure I understood the payment increase to come. I and my mother are 100% disabled veterans on a fixed income. We budget everything and if we had known that paying a little 26% each month in the first 18 months would have stopped a $100 increase, we would have added that to our ACH monthly payments. I didn't even receive the financial documents from GoodLeap UNTIL this week when I found out about the increase in monthly payments. The installers of my solar panels used GoodLeap BUT it's GoodLeaps responsibility to ensure it's customers are satisfied and know all about the payments. There have been MANY lawsuits AGAINST GoodLeap since I signed with them and there have been OVER 50 pages of complaints filed with the BBB about them. They don't care about customer service, they don't care about coming to a resolution and they don't care proper communications with their customers. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.

Solar Buyer, Beware Predatory Scammers

Unscrupulous business, unethical, if not fraudulent, practices. My Solar Company signed me up with GoodLeap without my knowledge This was despite that I informed them from the start that I would pay-in-full upon installation. GoodLeap contacted me to request that I sign up for their Payment Portal. The first three reps gave me the installation cost ($26,960), but refused to give me the payoff amount. It took 2+ weeks and 4 reps to get the payoff amount ($27, 488+ including a $97 recording of termination). AN EXORBITANT AMOUNT OF INTEREST (11.99%, $9.29/day) BEGAN TO ACCRUE THE MINUTE THE SOLAR WAS INSTALLED, DESPITE THAT NO BILL WAS SENT. ALL REPS INFORMED ME THAT THE FIRST BILL WOULDN'T BE SENT UNTIL NEARLY 3 MONTHS AFTER INSTALLATION (totaling at least $750+ accrued interest prior to first bill). In the meantime, the reps urged me to consolidate all debt with GoodLeap. Apparently GoodLeap assumes that the customer is stupid. Why would I consolidate a home mortgage at 4% interest, or even credit cards at 9% interest, with a loan company charging 11.99% interest. Companies like GoodLeap are the reason people lose their homes. Had I needed a solar loan, it would have been far less expensive to re-fi my mortgage. There is nothing good about GoodLeap.

Received payoff quote which was in error by 8 cents. Continued harassment with phone calls and statements for 3 months for 8 cents
