Working with Olson Solar Energy was amazing from the quote, through installation, and after install when submitting documentation for the energy rebates. They made it easy for me as the homeowner, which I really appreciate. I highly recommend them if you are looking into adding solar to your home.

Olson Solar Energy was excellent to work with. We never had to worry about any of the details—they took care of subcontractors, permits, everything. We appreciated how well they communicated and kept us in the loop on where things were at and what the next step was. We always knew exactly what was going on and when to expect them to be working at our house. If they had to push things back a day or two for weather, they let us know right away and rescheduled as soon as possible. They even got things done sooner than expected! Our experience and results were great and we would highly recommend them.

We were able to install due to a local city loan for improvements and tax rebates. Olson was prompt with a site visit and estimate. The install ultimately came in the late part of last year and the crew worked hard through the cold and short days to get our system in before the end of the year as promised. We are loving the electric bill change already. Our only reason for not giving a five-star rating dealt with communication issues after the contracts were signed, mostly as far as timelines for installation and questions related to particulars of our rather unique, city-sponsored loan program. I largely attribute this to the extremely high demand for their services and also because we were one of their very first customers as a business and they were just getting off the ground. They are also a local business and we really valued that as consumers, so were understanding once clarifications were offered. Ultimately, given the commitment to what I saw as delivering the product on time and with transparency, I bet that if I were doing the same install this year they would have gotten a five star review from us. If you are in the Driftless area I would without hesitation recommend contacting Olson Solar about an installation.

Brandon and Jim did the install of our combined roof and ground mount system. At every step of the design and installation, Olsons were focused on meeting our needs. We are very pleased with the system itself and Olsons as our system provider.

I am 100% happy with the solar panel energy system installed by Olson Solar Energy. My system was up and running on Feb. 11, 2020. Last year I averaged 12.7 kWh of electrical usage per day, including summer days of heavy AC use. In the first 70 days since my solar panels have been working I have captured on average 15.1 kWh per day. This time of year is suboptimal for solar radiation. Nevertheless, in those 70 days I captured 414 kWh more energy than I have used in my home. The excess runs back to Xcel where I will receive a reimbursement at the end of the year. I have a 14 panel, 4.34 kW system. Because of the size of my roof it initially was going to be 12 panels. After clarification of City of La Crosse ordinances I was able to increase the panels to 14. Because of the limitation of my old electrical meter Olson Solar decided it was best if they installed a new meter. I'm sure this resulted in unexpected hardware and labor costs for Olson. However, I was not charged even a cent for the upgrade. The system communicates with my computer via wi-fi, where you can monitor the performance of the solar panels. It updates every 15 minutes. I enjoy watching the kWh's pile up through out the day, especially on sunny days. Note that currently there is a 26% deduction of the cost of your system on your federal taxes. Also, Focus on Energy awards a $300 rebate per kW of your system (4.34 x 300 = $1300 for mine). Both of these incentives are for the year 2020. I highly recommend installing a solar panel system and I highly recommend Olson Solar Energy. Jeff Boyle
