We had our panels installed about 4 weeks ago. Dominion switch the meter and the city inspected within a week. Our system has been running for 17 days now and we are averaging 22kwh per day! We are making what we use. Highly recommend this company. We were getting an addition built and solar stuck with us for 6 months waiting to install the panels. They never pushed or threatened to increase the cost because of the extreme delay. They were quick and professional once instillation was finally possible.

Chad, Nolie, and Gabe did a fantastic job with the install of our 23.56kWh system. They provided a cost that was well below other estimates. Their level of professionalism and attentiveness to aesthetics and performance was phenomenal. Our roof was left in pristine condition and they made the whole process enjoyable. The system production to date is exceeding their projected numbers. We have now had the system for 8 months and I am very pleased with our decision to use them.

Convert Solar designed and installed a 12.7 kWp system on the rooftop of our Oceanview house in November. They did an excellent job--a very cool team of young people committed to helping the environment, who aren't afraid of high places. Convert has continued to help us with slight tweaks and are very responsive. We are generating 75% of our energy in the dead of winter and anticipate breaking even in about 8 years. Hampton Roads Solar Coop has been great also. We highly recommend the technology and Convert Solar.

This job had numerous issues. My unit has been turned on today, February 4. We elected to go with ground panels, with the expectation that work would be completed by Halloween of 2019. The salesman, Nolie, was very helpful and responsive throughout the process. Initially, the delay was that the city required a new survey. Then we were told that we were waiting on permits, the delay here was also said to be the city’s fault. However, the city sent a representative out to inspect the structure because the permits had been approved weeks prior. When the employees finally came to install the unit, they put it in the wrong place. Once it was moved, the trench contractor came out to dig and hit our water line, taking down seven other homes with it. It was repaired fairly quickly, but seeing as how there was a visible cap for the sump nearby, this should have been done by hand, not with a machine. The trench contractor was incredibly rude about it, going so far as to verbally attack my neighbor when she told him it was his responsibility to have checked. A weak verbal apology was offered over the phone only after several days of trying to reach the manager, Ryan, at Convert Solar. When the city first inspected the electrical aspect of the structure, it failed. Once the issues were corrected, and it passed on January 6, the paperwork was supposed to go to the electric company so that they could replace the meter and start the unit. It took Convert Solar almost three more weeks to send the paperwork. The electric company did not receive the paperwork until January 22. We have already paid for two months of the financing on this unit, essentially doubling our electric bill, or we might have just told them to take it all out. We will see if the panels actually do what they’re supposed to do and if so, this review will be updated.

Very pleased with my Convert Solar installation from start to finish. Nolie and his crew are professional and delivered as promised. 40kWh a day and more when the sun is shining.

Convert solar did a great job of installing 32 panels on my roof 3 1/2 years ago. The whole job was done in one day. Most of my monthly electric bills are for the minimum $8 connection fee. Only January and February cost me $ for my heat pumps.

My inverter stopped working about a year ago, but Convert replaced it with a new unit a few days later, no charge. Good folks to work with!

Cannot say enough about our experience with Convert. Great communication, a transparent transaction, an install deadline that was met and a very responsive sales/company rep. Had all my questions answered and feel very good about my choice -- in terms of picking Convert and the decision to go solar.

I got several quotes for my rooftop solar project and convert solar had the most competitive pricing.
They also pointed out that there is a Inverter with an integrated EV- Charger available which made sense for me since I drive an electric car.
Overall great workmanship and good service.

We've had our system now for 5 years and couldn't be happier. Convert Solar was extremely professional throughout the whole process of design and installation. They helped us when there was an issue with Dominion and our meter. We've only had one issue with the panels and they were out to fix it quickly.

Picked Convert Solar off a recommendation from a friend. They were very helpful up front with answering questions and providing a proposed solution. They were able to cover 100% of our energy needs for the year! Our install went great and everyone was extremely professional and pleasant.
On the down side, we had some communication challenges throughout the process. 1) We were promised an architectural/technical design review prior to install to make sure that all our panels would fit. That never happened. 2) We had some hiccups with the post-install inspection scheduling where we were not kept up to speed on what was happening and when. 3) We did not get a good update on what we were supposed to do and what Convert Solar was supposed to do after the install.
Ultimately, Mr. Wilkins, Convert Solar's owner, was very helpful and addressed all of our concerns. We just wish that the information flow had been a little smoother.
All-in-all we would definitely recommend Convert Solar.

Convert Solar did a great job in installing and setting up my residential solar installation. They advised me of all the pros and cons in going with my particular installation (a free standing 24 panel set on two pedestals, generating a peak 7.2 kWp) and provided tremendous support during and after the installation. I have been extremely pleased with what Convert Solar was able to provide me, particularly since I was the first to have solar on an electrical system in my area, and their assistance in walking me through the "first time setup" steps involving the various agencies was invaluable. I have been using the system that was installed for over two years now with zero issues. I would recommend using them for solar projects without hesitation.

Convert Solar was prompt, did what they said. Their workers were excellent and knowledgeable. Other Solar installers have actually stopped by our house to look at our installation and all have commented on what a great job it was. That's as good as it gets.

Solar photovoltaic it’s something I’ve wanted installed in our home for many years, and Convert Solar made the process very easy. It was a turnkey installation, and they started and finished the job in less than a single day. It was interesting to see the electric meter rotate backwards to a reading of 00000, and I learned what the meter looks like when it’s at zero and continues to rotate backwards ... Something few people experience, Ha.

We had our system installed by Convert Solar as part of a local co-op. We were very happy with the quality of work and professional service that Convert provided.

As part of the SUN co-op, it was easy to work with Convert Solar. They responded to all questions, came up with ways to make the wiring conduit look attractive for my wife, and did a good looking installation. They were not all about the money, but about good service and doing the right thing.

The middle price of 3 cost estimates, Convert Solar delivered a functioning Dominion & VB City approved system as promised. Only long delay was due to Dominion Energy taking their time to swap out the old electric meter for a new Net metering unit, which Mara at Convert Solar warned me would probably happen,

Process was seamless. Couldn't be more satisfied.. Provided very conservative estimate of break-even.

Chad Wilkins and his staff did a great job of installing twenty one solar panels on our roof in 2015. The equipment has performed as advertised since then and they have responded to any and all questions and issues, without charge, over the four plus years of operation of the system. We highly recommend Convert Solar to everyone we know and meet that express interest in solar power because of the great job they did and continue to do for us.

Service was outstanding. Quality was outstanding. All I did was e-mail them and later give them a credit card number. Price was also outstanding via a local co-op. This company is managed by a true professional and perfectionist.

Working with Convert Solar was one of the best experiences my family has had. They walked us through the project and were very patient, working well over a year for us from beginning to end. Our solar Coop selected Convert Solar. The plan Convert Solar developed was good - worked with us to determine size, then presented a great proposal. Using a coop helped lower costs. After deposit they were out quickly (3 weeks to work into busy schedule) and took only two days to put up an 8mW system and connections. Utility took their sweet time connecting but once hooked up its great. Monitoring generation on phone app and its working fine. Sales rep was very responsive - texts back within an hour or so with updates and details.

The entire process was impressively flawless. Outstanding customer service, tailored to my needs, everything was made easy and convenient. I have recommended Convert Solar to all of my friends
