Barron began in 1972 as an HVAC company, and we have been installing solar since 2018. We have full electrical, solar, and plumbing divisions in addition to our core HVAC division. Barron is locally owned and operates in 5 counties in Washington State, including Whatcom, Skagit, San Juan, Island, and Snohomish County. We design and install complete solar arrays, and have a combined 24 years of experience in the solar industry and 40 in the electrical field. Our team has experience in large-scale commercial solar installations and off-grid solar design and installation, as well as countless residential installations - we even have experience in the manufacture of solar panels.

Our HVAC background allows us to address the needs of your entire home, covering end-to-end HVAC equipment installations, generator installations, energy performance audits, and home performance updates. This allows us to make your home as efficient as possible before we design and install solar, to minimize the size of the solar array that your home needs to get to net zero. This allows our customers to save money overall. Eliminating inefficient heating methods such as baseboard heating and replacing them with a high efficiency HVAC unit often significantly brings down the number of solar panels required and saves significant amounts of money. We can also address home performance issues which can greatly contribute to the overall efficiency of your home.

Barron also installs whole-home and partial-home generators with auto-transfer switches to provide power for your home when grid power goes down. Grid power in Washington State most often goes down in the middle of winter, when sunlight and therefore solar power is 1/3 of what it is in the summer. This means that battery back-up systems use power from the grid in the winter to keep their charge topped up. When the power goes out, battery systems only have a finite amount of power they can provide to your home, while generators running on natural gas have a continuous source of fuel, and propane generators are only limited by your tank capacity (and the tank can be refilled).
