IEC got its start almost 20 years ago, as an electrical contractor in Blue Springs, MO. Within our home market of metropolitan Kansas City, we’re still known primarily as an electrical contractor, while outside Kansas City we’re known as a general contractor.
In both Electrical and General Contracting, we have a strong theoretical base–we’re one of the few companies our size that has a Ph.D. electrical engineer on staff, as well as civil and mechanical engineers.
Fans of Sporting KC, the Chiefs, and the Royals know that the atmosphere at home games can be electric; IEC worked on the actual electrical contracting at every one of those stadiums.
Some of our most important general contracting clients are the U.S. Armed Services. Working with demanding customers–military and civilian–on critical projects has shaped IEC’s methods, systems & processes, and accountability. We invest in our people, and constantly evolve, learn, and define new best practices as we take on more challenging assignments. We deliver complete solutions for clients whose needs range from engineering through project management and construction.
Growth is one important measure of the faith our clients have in our performance. We recently moved to a new head office in historic Martin City. We have satellite offices in Fort Irwin, CA , Knob Koster, MO, and Fort Worth, TX and currently employ over 40 people. IEC is MBE, DBE, and 8(a) certified.
