ACE Solar

Installed 10.22 kWp system over 6 years ago. Since then it's malfunctioned 4 times (replaced inverter 3 times) and been out of service for over 6 months cumulatively. They used SolarEdge inverters, which have failed and needed replacing three times already, and it takes weeks for warranty claims to be processed (at least that’s what ACE says). Despite the 20 year warranty saying they make repairs at their sole expense, they now claim they are entitled to charge a $750 diagnostic fee before making repairs. Imagine buying a car with a warranty only for them to tell you that you have to pay them $750 every time to diagnose a problem. It's a shakedown by them to get back the money they lose on their warranty for the crappy SolarEdge products they use. They aren't responsive after the install - they don't respond to calls or emails. You have to stay on them about service issues or literally months can go by without resolution.

Very pleased with Ace Solar's professionalism and quality of work. They were in frequent communication with me at all stages of the project and stayed on-schedule throughout. Although the lead time from signing to turning the system on was long, the schedule they told me upfront was met. The system has been working without issue ever since.

The entire team at ACE Solar has been a pleasure to work with. My salesperson Sam Willis contacted me via EnergySage when I was shopping around for a solar installer. Sam was responsive, knowledgeable and never pushed me towards anything I didn't want. Sam worked with me to update the proposal to include more panels and switch to a microinverter solution. I signed the contract at the end of January 2023, had my site visit about four weeks later, and the panels were installed mid-April 2023. The install crew finished the entire job in less than a day and was absolutely phenomenal - they were professional, courteous and didn't take any shortcuts or cut corners. They cleaned up after themselves meticulously - one of the electricians even came inside to vacuum the attic insulation that fell down during the install. The inspections and utility approvals took another two months and I received permission to operate in mid-June 2023. Shirley Mapes (the customer care mananger) kept me updated throughout the process and always answered my questions via email in a timely manner. I am extremely satisfied with my new solar system and my electricity cost savings. In mid-July 2023, half of my panels stopped working and I needed to contact the ACE Solar service department. It took two site visits and 6 weeks to get the issue resolved (some cabling came loose and had to be re-secured), but my system is now fully working again. There was a 3 week period where I had trouble getting in touch with anybody, but otherwise I found their service department to be very responsive via both email and phone. Overall I am very happy with choosing ACE Solar and will be recommending them to any friends, family, or co-workers interested in going solar!

During the whole process from the initial assessment and quote to the completion of the installation of our solar system Ace Solar and their teams provided an excellent service, they have been extremely professional, very thorough and very pleasant to work with. Their installation was very clean, smooth and on time. I was beyond impressed with how their teams work together in harmony, their schedules very well synchronized and everything was completed on a timely basis as promised. Upon the final inspection the inspectors commended them on the clean and thorough work and shared with me their deep satisfaction with the complete setup. Sam Willis was my contact throughout the whole implementation, he was not only very involved and caring throughout the whole project, but also reached out to me during the multiple stages of the project to explain the next steps and to walk me through the plan for that stage. He was always responsive and always followed up with me with the necessary details any time something needs to be done. You will be informed about the whole procedure and you will have a vendor who is there to help you understand the process from start to finish. Deano from ACE explained the pros and cons of lease vs buy at our initial consultation. He also explained all the incentives from federal, state and SREC sources. We choose to buy. He also explained the system components and what we could expect for reliability and warranty. We ultimately settled on a 5.6 KW system that is a bit larger than our current needs , but we will likely grow into it after we retire and a plug-n hybrid car is almost certainly in our future. The installation was professionally done and has been trouble free since it was turned on. We asked for some small changes to the layout to allow me better access to the roof and Deano was totally accommodating. I like to keep my house at a comfortable temp in warmer weather and I am very confident that I will never have an electric bill again at my current usage including air conditioning loads. ACE did a site evaluation and were honest with me in that my site is not 100% optimal, but still well within the range of a good payback. So far, everything they said I could expect from this system has held true. I would recommend ACE Solar without any reservation, and if I were to move locally and wanted a solar system installed, they would be my only call.

I found that Corey was an excellent source of information around installing a system that exceeds the current 10kW cap for residential. He understands the current workings of the solar industry and was able to converse easily between the DC and AC performance of the various system configurations. He was very responsive and was helpful in getting a roofer involved in the process. His pricing was extremely competitive for both string and micro-inverter configurations.
