After quite a bit of shopping around, I chose Evergreen Solar to design and install my 18-module PV system. I was impressed with the owner, Zayith, from our first conversation. He actually listened to understand my needs and drivers before making recommendations, as opposed to other PV installers who tried to tell me what they think I needed. Zayith was transparent with the assumptions used for their financial analysis (payback period, etc.) whereas others were smoke and mirrors. He even worked with me on a late design change when I decided to switch to 320W Qcell modules. Evergreen handled all permitting and PG&E interconnect application without issue. The installers were on time, friendly, cleaned up after themselves, and were in and out in under 5 hours. And most importantly, their price beat ALL of the competition.
The SnapNrack mounting system used by Evergreen allowed them to essentially hide the electrical routing so there are no exposed wires or conduits. Very clean installation that I'm proud to have on my roof.
My system has been operating flawlessly and in line with estimated production for almost 4 months now. I have zero complaints and highly recommend others to consider Evergreen.
Evergreen solar replaced my roof and installed a 23 panel solar system. The new roof was needed to support the panels and was subcontracted with Diego Lopez. Diego was great and Evergreen followed rapidly with the panels. All was as expected, done professionally, and in time. All workers were polite, considerate, did a high quality job, and cleaned up at the end. The only minor glitch that occurred was due to me failing to carefully review the payment schedule. For obvious reasons, I wanted to pay as panels were installed, not as they arrived to provider storehouse. I should have put that in the contract. I suggest you discuss and understand these details with any installer before you sign. Anyway, Mr. Pinto and Evergreen showed flexibility on this matter and on other details. In addition, he was responsive, followed the installation closely and worked with PGE to get the system on their logs. In conclusion, I would use Evergreen again without hesitation. The system has now been working for several months and performing very nicely.
I was extremely impressed with Zayith's knowledge and how he took the time to educate me on every aspect of going solar. He explained things to me that others glossed over and didn't explain correctly. He had a ton of patience with me and he was more concerned with making sure I completely understood every aspect instead of just "selling" me solar.
Being in business for over 21 years was a big plus for me. I didn't want to go with a company that only got into solar 5-7 years ago.
They installed my system in 19 days!! That was much quicker than I expected! Super clean install with the conduit through the attic. The crew was very quick and very professional. They really took pride in their work and it showed in every aspect of our interaction.
I would highly recommend you reach out to Zayith! He is very very helpful and Evergreen is a great company.
I was skeptical and had to learn a lot as I was getting into this. Zayith was very responsive in providing me answers and updated quotes. When you’re trying to make a big decision, the details are important and Zayith was always there despite my job being relatively small. My HOA was a pain, but evergreen made it a point to get my panels installed the moment I got approval. Thanks!
Had a great experience with our system. Friendly and very professional. I have referred them to family and friends and they have treated them just as they did me.
I have a 2 story older Victorian home with lots of tree shading. Most companies did not want to bid after looking at the satellite photos. Unfortunately many companies just want to do the easier new homes. Zayith Pinto from Evergreen Solar came up with a couple of designs but we finally settled on dividing the panels between the house and a 2 story shed. This meant that we needed to go with micro-inverters and 2 communication portels. Luckily Enphase just released the IQ7x that could handle the high voltage/high efficiency Panasonic panels. Evergreen came out, installed the system, walked the permits and inspections through so I could get the solar working a couple of weeks ahead of schedule. Since the IQ7 is a new product, there were issues initially getting the systems to communicate properly. Zayith went the extra mile in ensuring that Enphase correct the problems. Now I have panel level monitoring. If you read reviews of Enphase's monitoring software this is probably the biggest complaint customers have. The system averaged ~ 46 KWH/day in August compared to the estimate of 47KWH in the proposal. The installers even painted the conduits to match my house trim so the conduits blend in. I spent the extra money to get the highest quality panels and inverters and so far it looks like it was worth it.
Evergreen Solar w-a-a-y exceeded my expectations from start to finish. I had a lot of questions and a lot of hesitation about selecting a contractor who would design and build a system that would meet my expected energy needs into the foreseeable future. Evergreen's team reviewed with me our historical electrical consumption and helped walk me through anticipating changes in family size and other factors that would get us to the optimum system now and over the longer term. The fact that they use premium quality panels and inverters was an important consideration for me. Once we got through the planning, Evergreen took control of matters with the county building dept and PG&E, which relieved me of the need to get into the trenches. In a very short time frame our system was approved and with permit in hand the Evergreen installation team were in and out in about 8 hours. They were careful working on our roof and left no trace of all the packing cartons and materials used in the installation. Evergreen handled the final inspection and getting the permit signed off, as well as concluding the review and approval from PGE to begin operating the system.
Best of all was that once we had the final system design down, we were up and running in about 4 weeks -- much sooner than I ever imagined possible.
I highly recommend Evergreen with absolutely no reservations.
Zayith and his team did an excellent job on my home solar installation. They're very patient, heard my needs very closely and also worked with me like a true partner when some changes from design and city took us by surprise. i'd recommend this team to everyone !
I can't say enough good things about my salesperson Zayith who was so very paitent with me and my ignorant questions. His installation team of Ken, Ben, Maurico, Jeremy, and David were just awesome. The house down the street used a different contractor than Evergreen and the 2 installations couldn't be different. The cleanliness of the install and the overall friendliness of the installation crew can not be described. You have to see both homes to see the difference, the pride of their work. I would never have found Evergreen Solar without EnergySage. I can't say enough Positive things about my experiance so far
Evergreen Solar installation was a great installation experience. They answered all our solar questions prior to us selecting them as our solar installer. They provide us information rather than a "hard sell" that other solar companies engaged in. Once we selected Evergreen, the communication was excellent and they informed and guided us through the entire installation process. Everyone we worked with at Evergreen was professional and friendly. Energysage as a great resource and we were able to make "apple to apple" comparisons on Solar companies. Evergreen Solar was the best option.
I found EverGreen Solar via energysage.com ... They were one of 5 bidders. There bid was slightly higher than one of the firms, but they quoted both better equipment (Panasonic panels) and a larger capacity system. In addition, they took the time to get a fuller picture of my usage (a full 12-month report from PG&E).
The owner - Zayith - worked with me to evaluate the financing options. I ended up using a 3rd party firm - LightStream.com - as their 4.99% rate was "real" (e.g. not subsidy that would have boosted the price, effectively making the real rate much, much higher - over 12%).
Zayith's crew was timely in coming onsite to do a site review, timely in getting the permit process completed and timely in completing the installation. I was able to see the outcome the next day by looking at my daily usage on PG&E's site. Very sweet. The full "turn-on" (e.g. PG&E buying my excess production during the day as a contra against non-production periods) should happen in the next few weeks. I'm very comfortable that EverGreen will ensure it happens as smoothly as everything else in the process.
A first-class experience with substantial cost-savings versus competing options and tier 1 equipment.
I found Zayith Pinto and Evergreen Solar excellent to work with. Zayith answered all my questions and provided the best value for the Panasonic PV system. Zayith did not try to over-sell a larger system then could be installed for the most efficient production on my roof and he was honest about the production that could be obtained with the most efficient design - ending with 39 panels, I needed a large system and had a previous non-EnergySage quote for a 48 panel system that had panels placed where the output would help to reach 100% of my usage but with many panel placed in locations were not optimal - increasing cost without a proportional power increase. Other quotes promised more at less cost but, but didn't seem to provide the value of Evergreen Solar's quote.
Evergreens installers finished the project in a bit over one day and did a clean good looking installation. The crew was courteous and cleaned up after themselves, including fixing roof tiles that were already broken prior to the project. It only took a few weeks to get the project installed once the contract was signed. Evergreen Solar has as a very good installation warranty - better than most others - comprehensive fix or replace for 25-years; where many companies only provide the manufacturer's hardware warranties. A great job and good value overall.
We contacted a half dozen solar companies for quotes to install a 30 panel system on a roof that needed some minor repairs. Evergreen solar gave us the most competitive quote for the system and the repairs combined. The process was very easy, they handled the permitting and design efficiently.
The crew who came to install the system was very friendly and respectful of our infant and toddler's nap time along with my wife's breastfeeding schedule. During the installation the crew accidentally drilled into a fire sprinkler line. The water leak was quickly stopped, they apologized and accepted responsibility. Between the repairs they did themselves and other contractors they brought in the issue was resolved quickly and without additional cost. I was very impressed with their integrity and service.
The system is running as advertised and we would recommend Evergreen Solar to anyone looking for a company that offers both excellent value and service.
From start to finish hands down the most professional manner from there sales team to the installers. Always was communicating step by step clean polite . Just so very excited and pleased to see no more power bill every month
They stood out in their professionalism and quality of work. Upfront appt all the costs and fees and broke everything down perfectly. Glad they were the company i chose after bad experiences in the past.
We met with several companies but Evergreen not only had great warranties and price, but they went the "extra mile". Joe was very knowledgeable and gave us more information than the other companies. He was patient and helped us a lot. I would highly recommend Evergreen. We got a 9.2 kW system and are extremely happy with the whole process. Thank you Evergreen.
