Good sales, poor execution

I had high hopes for my solar installation after interacting with a personable sales representative, Stiles, and receiving a promising initial design that effectively utilized the available space on my roof. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience with this company did not live up to the initial impression. Despite choosing this company partly because of their higher cost per kWh, which suggested a premium service, the reality was disappointing. The project was marred by significant delays and inaccuracies. The plan submitted for city approval included lower power IQ8 microinverters instead of the more suitable IQ8M, leading to a suboptimal setup that extended my return on investment timeline by a year. Although they ended up installing IQ8+ microinverters, this was still not the best fit for my system and seemed like a cost-cutting measure at my expense. The installation process itself was lackluster. The panels were misaligned, and the company failed to protect my roof from overspray, showing a lack of attention to detail. Moreover, they did not maintain consistency when wiring L1 and L2 lines to the combiner box, and the production current transformers (CTs) were improperly wired as well. Additionally, when I raised issues about the missing consumption current transformers, I was ignored, forcing me to handle the installation myself. A major priority for me was to get the system up and running quickly. Stiles initially promised a turnaround of just over one month, but the installation dragged on for more than four months, not due to permitting issues or delays from the power company. Furthermore, the system failed its initial inspection because the safety stickers were not applied properly. Overall, while the initial sales and design process was handled well, the execution and follow-up were severely lacking. This company did not deliver the premium service expected, and the overall experience was frustrating and below standard.
