Almika Energy

My experience with Almika has been incredibly frustrating, and I would strongly caution anyone considering doing business with them. First, they are extremely difficult to get a hold of. Getting in touch with someone is a challenge, and when you do, getting clear or consistent answers is even harder. There’s no real customer portal, no website to manage your account just a monthly statement and that’s it. For a financial company, that alone is a huge red flag. The bigger issue comes when you try to refinance your home. Almika places a UCC lien on the solar panels and will not subordinate it under any circumstances. This effectively blocks your ability to refinance unless the panels are paid off in full. I’ve had solar panels on multiple homes and have never run into a company unwilling to work through subordination. This is not standard practice and creates a major financial roadblock. To make matters worse, this isn’t clearly outlined upfront. It shows up buried in fine print via email, not transparently in the core contract where it should be. That lack of clarity is unacceptable given the long term financial impact. Even the payoff process is unnecessarily difficult. They require wire transfers because they can’t process ACH payments — which is outdated and inconvenient, especially for something as simple as paying off a loan. What’s especially frustrating is that Almika wasn’t even the primary lender, they were secondary, yet they still managed to block a refinance entirely. Between the poor communication, lack of transparency, outdated processes, and restrictive lien practices, this has been a terrible experience. I would never do business with Almika again. Unless they are your absolute last resort, stay away.

1. Once contract was signed, placed panels on home on a Sunday without consent. 2. When I did not agree to use Almika as energy provider, they did not complete connection service as contractually agreed. 3. No contact there after.

By any means sign up with this company. First of all they pray over elderly people and people that don’t speak English nor understand what they are signing. They lie about the incentives they will give if they are to sign up. They tell you about you will be saving lots of money with the panels on your electrical bill which is a huge lie not only I have a electric bill but extra expense on something that never has worked. I have asked multiple of times for them to come and fix the panels and no one ever has come , we have over 2 years with the panels and one ever came to even tell us how they are to work or anything and my electricity bill is still the same plus the solar panel bill which is insane. Oh but for them to ask for the payment they are number one while not providing the service that needs to be provided. They are a true scammers stay away from this company. All they do is pray over people that don’t understand language very well and they trust there word.

In 2021 when I singed for it, they told me I will only be paying just a little amount like $10, $20 for the electricity and that will be for administrative only, and that I would not need to worry about increment of any electricity bill due to weather change or whatever. But now apart from solar bill which I paid $165.37 every month I also paid $99.38 to green mountain energy. I don't see the reason you this solar people are deceiving everyone just for you to make your dubious money. The almika representative that signed me up if I called him he doesn't answer my call again his name is Moussa Ndoye his number is 8322898296. So my advice for everyone is STAY with your LEGAL, LEGITIMATE electricity company not any solar scam.

I purchased my solar panels through Almika Energy in December 2020. They offered an incentive of 12 months repayment of fees and a one-time payment of $1000 because I am a disabled veteran. I have no complaints about the panels, however. the company does not stand behind their word. I have been fighting since February 2022 to get my 1 year incentive payments. I spoke with the salesman, Mr. Ndoye, who repeatedly lied to me, never returned my calls or texts. I eventually got a check for $635.07 which represents 3 months incentive. I went to the company where I met the owner, Cameron Almika. He assured me that I would get the balance of my money ($1905.21) immediately. That was in March 2022. It is now May 27th and I'm still waiting after numerous conversations. I now have to resort to filing in Small Claims Court to get Almika to honor their contract with me. I advise people, DO YOUR HOMEWORK! I wish I had before I went with Almika Energy. Maybe I would have saved myself from a headache and a lot of stress for this 72 year old disabled veteran.

I bought my panels from Almika about 6 months ago and have been very happy with them. My sales person was very knowledgeable and patient enough to answer any questions I had as well as walk me through the whole sales process. I bought a few extra panels just to make sure I didn't have a bill in the summer, way to go Almika!
