Overview

The SolarMax Group was founded in June, 2015, in the Bavarian district of Ellzee. The company develops, produces, and distributes string and central inverters for grid-connected solar power systems, data communication solutions, and accessories for monitoring, planning, and control.
The SolarMax Group emerged from the insolvent company Sputnik Engineering AG. The primary shareholder is the RenerVest Group, from Waldstetten in Bavaria. The company acquired the brand rights, production equipment, warehouses, online portals, and service centre SolarMax Service GmbH in Annaberg-Buchholz, in Saxony and Sputnik Engineering International AG in Switzerland. SolarMax was also able to acquire Sputnik Engineering’s German development engineers and sales manager.
