SunGrid Solar

Our experience with SunGrid Solar has been extremely disappointing and stressful, especially during a very difficult time for our family. My mother-in-law purchased a solar system through SunGrid. The system was installed, but the job was never completed — the final inspection was never scheduled, and PTO (Permission to Operate) was never obtained. She was waiting on a $5,000 rebate before making her first payment, but tragically passed away on January 31st. We contacted SunGrid shortly after to inform them of her passing and ask how to proceed. Instead of providing guidance or support, we were met with payment demands and a 10-day notice, despite explaining that we were legally unable to act without a death certificate due to probate laws in California. What’s most concerning: * The project was not completed, yet they still demanded full payment * We were never informed that final inspection and PTO were still pending * Communication became inconsistent and eventually stopped altogether * A mechanics lien was filed, adding unnecessary stress during an already difficult time * We were even pushed to take on a new loan, which felt completely inappropriate After resolving the financial side ourselves just to move forward, SunGrid has now completely stopped responding. It has been over a week with no reply regarding PTO, leaving us with a fully installed system that cannot legally operate. This situation could have been handled with basic communication and professionalism. Instead, it turned into a frustrating and unnecessary ordeal. At minimum, we expected: * Clear guidance * Completion of the contracted work * Respectful communication during a family loss We received none of that. We are now forced to complete the process on our own due to their lack of accountability. I strongly recommend others proceed with caution.

The solar system didn't deliver the promised production kWh with a 93% offset. After waiting for a full year per SunGrid to make an adjustment. I was promised by Andrew Higgins (the company CEO) to either move panels or add a panel at no additional cost to me to get me to the production I was quoted for. Then no responses back from him after that.

The guys at Sungrid are absolutely amazing! They're very helpful and knowledgeable with their products and services. First i was hesitant on the financing option, but the process was very fast and got approved right away. After seeing the remarkable savings on my bill I couldn't be more thrilled! Switching to solar was an absolute game changer for our home. I definitely recommend!

Great service! The guys from sungrid came on time and gave us some options. they explained the benefits of each option and in the end we chose to do a 10 year loan because they made our payments cost less than our bill currently. The installation was fast and the process was easy. I really like how they followed up with me every step of the way.
