Village Solar Co

I engaged Village Solar to install a rooftop solar array on my home. My desire was to go green. From first contact to going live, my experiences with the entire team at Village Solar were wonderful. The team is professional, courteous, knowledgeable and respectful. We worked out every detail with excellent communication. The entire process was transparent and considerate of my time. I highly recommend the Village Solar crew if you are thinking of going green.

Our 6 year old system needed a hardware update. Its original 2G cellular network for communication was being shut down. The manufacturer informed us of the cellular shut down but gave no explanation of how to upgrade. Village Solar Co. came today and did a great job installing the upgrade. Their yogrde works better than the original. When first installing solar we were uncertain how difficult it would be to maintain. Fortunately well-designed systems are extremely reliable as we have learned over the past 17 years with two systems. But when they do need an upgrade like ours did it is great to have a local installer who will actually come and do the needed work. Glad to have someone we trust.

We recently contracted with Village Solar for 40 solar panels to be installed in our hayfield above the farmhouse. We didn’t know how many we needed or even if Village Solar would do an installation over 3 hours from Yellow Springs. Turns out they do and they did design a project for our needs. Alex is very knowledgeable about his product and configures the best solution for the success of the project. They did an excellent, neat job and we are happy with it.

Alex with VIllage Solar has to be one of the most patient people around. I had been researching solar for a couple years and wanted to pull the plug but I still had a ton of questions. Alex was a saint answering all the questions I had on and on and on. The crew did a fantastic job on the install which was a ground mount. Alex thought ahead and even installed it knowing we could expand the Enphase system with 14 more panels later on so he positioned it in our pasture so when fully expanded it would be perfectly centered. Only issue with the install was just waiting for AEP to get the paperwork all approved and get new meter installed. We had an issue were a micro inverter wasn't showing any production - Alex worked with Enphase instantly and was resolved without any having to drive out here or me lifting a finger. I have recommended Village Solar to anyone who has asked me about my system. We went all year with no electric bill, with PTO in very late May 2023. I can't wait to see how it operates over a full year in 2024.

Alex doesn’t service what he sells. Doesn’t return phone calls, at first he seemed legitimate then he dropped off the map.

Once permits were ok'd by the city, the installation took only 6 or 7 hours for my house. That's impressive. Some permits plans take longer than others, but it's worth it.
