Excellent Solar Installation

We are very happy with our solar PV installation. We had first-hand knowledge of the quality of their work as they did a large installation at our daughter's farm. They met all our expectations for our project. The crew was professional, courteous, thorough and fast. Communications were excellent from start to finish. We highly recommend Critical Mass Solar.

14 Panel Install in Medford

Critical Mass Solar delivered exactly what was promised on time with agreed upon price. The team was diligent and swift. First day there was a faulty equipment which they resolved without any delay. If you are worried about cost overruns or delays and want to work with a professional, give them a try. If I were to have more roof, I would have them come out to install more again!

We Highly recommend Critical Mass Solar

Freddy at Critical Mass is friendly and easy to work with. He showed up on time every time and the whole process went very smoothly. He worked with us to decide how many panels would best suit our needs. Our solar was installed and up and running within a very reasonable time frame. His team of installers were friendly, efficient and they cleaned up everything before they left. It was a pleasure working with Freddy and we would highly recommend him and Critical Mass Solar.

Happy customer, great work, honest provider...

Freddie from Critical Mass Solar was a pleasure to work with from the get-go. Very responsive, honest, straight shooter and no pressure, but there when I needed honest answers. Provides quality products, no fluff, and doesn't pad warranties and such to win your business. Even had Freddie do my daughter's home as well, since I was so happy with the experience and work. Whole team was great. Hire them if you want quality and honesty.

Avoid Critical Mass Solar

I cannot recommend Critical Mass Solar at all, even though I initially had high hopes for them. To begin with, they provided the most expensive quote out of the three I received. My interest in them only grew when they showed a keen desire to secure my business. My wife and I spent an hour discussing our needs with them, and it was a productive conversation. I made it clear from the start that living in Concord, MA, we might need to get permissions for tree removal. They assured us it wasn't an issue. To their credit, they later revised their quote to closely match the lowest one I'd received. The real issue started when we began discussions with the Concord Conservatory Commission about tree removal. Critical Mass Solar participated in a meeting with me and a town representative, and everything seemed to be on track. The main tree we discussed was agreed upon, while another was pending an arborist's review, and a third was deemed non-removable by Concord. Critical Mass Solar appeared content with these outcomes. After consulting my arborist, who agreed on the removal of the borderline tree (subject to Concord Committee's final decision), I updated Critical Mass Solar. But they immediately wanted a commitment from me. I requested to wait for the committee's final decision the following week. Despite this, they insisted the tree's fate was irrelevant. After I challenged this, they promised to check. But after nearly a week of no communication, they texted – not even called – to say the project was no longer viable. This was shocking. They had never indicated that any tree, except the one Concord had agreed to, was essential. Reflecting on this experience, I see three major failures on their part: 1. They seem unfamiliar with towns like Concord, which have robust conservation departments. Yet they were keen to establish a presence here. 2. Their communication lacked transparency and honesty. Despite my warnings about potential tree removal restrictions, they never once mentioned project viability concerns. 3. It seems that added coordination with Concord, was going to push out their 4th Quarter targets and helped lose interest in my property. While I can somewhat understand points 1 and 3, a lot of the frustration could have been avoided with clearer communication. Instead, they gambled, hoping all would go in their favor. When things didn't pan out, they handled it poorly, akin to a high school breakup over text. So, I unequivocally advise against using Critical Mass Solar. While I wish the individuals there the best, I will caution others in Concord, or in similar situations, to steer clear. Hopefully, they can learn from this feedback.
