We decided to go solar because electricity prices in Ohio have increased significantly and show no signs of slowing down. Timing also mattered to us, as we wanted the system installed before the end of the year. We evaluated several local contractors and were looking for clear communication, no pushy sales tactics, strong hardware, reasonable pricing, and reliability. A few companies came close, but Gold Path stood out overall. What we appreciated most was their responsiveness and transparency. Communication was prompt and straightforward. Any time I had a question, Jake responded quickly. If he did not immediately have an answer, he said so and followed up once he had accurate information. That level of honesty and follow through made a big difference. Gold Path also offered better hardware at a lower cost compared to other quotes we received. We went with REC panels, which were higher quality than what some competitors proposed, while still coming in at a better price. We asked them to design several different system configurations to balance cost and performance, and they handled every request without hesitation. Most of our communication was remote, which worked very well for us and helped the process move faster. They were flexible, efficient, and very easy to work with. They also offered one of the best financing rates we could find. Once we signed the contract, everything progressed smoothly. Gold Path handled permitting, addressed city feedback promptly, and kept us informed at every step. The installation itself was completed in a single day, which exceeded our expectations. After installation, they quickly resolved the inspection items, leading to a fast approval for permission to operate. Jake at Gold Path Solar was very responsive and helpful during my initial process of learning about rooftop solar, asking lots of questions, and thoroughly explained the financial and technical aspects of my project, as well as the process from start to finish. Shading is a tricky but important factor in the design of a solar installation, and he worked with me to optimize the modeling to determine the layout with the best production potential (subject to an upcoming site visit). I like the company's customer-centric business philosophy (including post-installation), patient sales approach, and their depth of experience. They are a local company with in-house design expertise and installation crews. They handle any service issues as well, and have a 25 year installation warranty. And they are using premium panels and inverters. Although the opportunity to take advantage of the tax credit had passed, I found the economics are still pretty compelling for solar (in addition to the environmental benefits). I can't speak to financing since I am paying cash. Their pricing was quite competitive with other experienced, local companies using high-quality components.

After much research, we decided to use Gold Path as our Solar delivery partner and we couldn’t be happier. Energysage led us there. Gold Path is owned and operated by Jake Trubiano. From inception to final inspection and beyond, Jake was actively engaged. We spoke directly with Jake on numerous occasions. He answered ALL of our initial and follow-up questions, advised us on all available equipment and manufacturers, fielded all of our concerns and managed everything from initial survey through final inspection with expediency and professionalism. Jake still checks in on us. There is nothing we were dissatisfied with in the experience, and the end result exceeded all of our hopes and expectations.
