Design Energy

I was skeptical about whether solar would work in our very leafy, older neighborhood, but the system that Design-Energy proposed and installed worked very well and produced our target amount of electricity (~90% annually) to reduce our production of green house gases. They handled design, permits, inspections and approvals, and all the other things that went into getting the system up and producing. Suzanne worked with her crew to be sure that everything was done well and was very informative throughout the process. I especially like that it's a smaller company that's committed to having people succeed in their solar installations. I've since moved from this property, but the solar system was a great selling point.

Thanks to Design Energy I can enthusiastically make that statement as the title of my review! Suzanne Csejtey, owner of Design Energy, designed and managed my residential solar PV project. The system, a 6.6 KW Outback, grid-tied ground-mount with battery back-up is now several years old and is reliable, dependable and productive. The ground mount option was an excellent choice and implemented to avoid cutting existing trees. Suzanne is knowledgeable, detail-oriented, trustworthy and was very willing to discuss ideas and options for creating the best system for my property. Responsive and continually keeping up with new technology and certifications for her business, Suzanne is able to answer questions and offer support at all phases of a project: Design, Construction and Operation!

I worked with Design Energy and Suzanne to install solar panels on my garage and then again several years later to install more panels on my house. Suzanne is very responsive and worked with me to design the system the way I wanted it. For both installations I was able to do much of the work myself, which saved some money and was a great learning experience. Suzanne was knowledgeable and shared information on all the options, advantages of each system, cost differences and the process of installation. I did not feel like I was being sold something for solely profit motives but rather like I was working with a partner in a project. Highly recommended!

I asked Suzanne to work with us for installation of our solar panels after I heard her at an informational session organized by my city district. I was immediately impressed by her knowledge and friendly disposition. After getting a couple of different quotes, we decided to go with Design Energy. We were not disappointed. Suzanne delivered an unmatched level of service, including FREE follow up visits whenever we had issues with the system over at least two-three years. We are very satisfied with the way things worked out, with the system working as promised. Suzanne is also very honest. When we inquired about installing a storage system, she advised us against it because the price point was still not advantageous. In other words, she did not try to oversell us something that we did not really need. I certainly respect that kind of honesty from a contractor. In summary, you cannot go wrong with Design Energy.
