The Solar Scouts

I got to take advantage of the tax credit so I went a little overboard and got 83 Qtron panel and 5 of the EG4 batteries. I’m using the free nights with just energy so I get back about 100 bucks a month I just made 5 megawatts for June and never had an issue or problem to mention. I’m one year in from install and things are pretty running on auto pilot. This was a pretty big job, so we had a few small issues. We had to move a panel or two from the plan but they ended up in better south facing spots. My home has two breaker boxes, so getting them to communicate properly took a couple tries, but I’ve had zero issues since the first month. I’ve been into the attic during every big rain storm because people tell all the horror stories of leaks but I have never found even a drop. My wife was scared of all the cuts and holes from installation, but they brought in a drywall guy after the job and it all looks like it was made to be here, even a perfect match of the paint. The apps take some getting used to if you really want to see what your system is producing. Now I look at it about once a month just to make sure there are no glitches in the software. I live in county, so it’s really nice to have electricity when my neighbors lose power. No regrets about going solar.

I got my solar panels installed by Solar Scouts in January 2024. The sales representative, Nick Manto, handled the sales and installation process. From the very beginning, communication and service were extremely poor. After multiple follow-ups, the system was finally turned on, but I later discovered that the Enlighten application (for monitoring solar production and consumption) was never set up. When I asked about this, I was told the readings would appear on my CoServ utility bill. I checked for several months, but the solar data was never reflected correctly. Since then, I’ve tried contacting Nick multiple times at (972) 433‑5979, but I’ve received no response — it’s now been almost two years with no resolution. I’m very disappointed with the lack of professionalism, follow-up, and accountability from this company. I strongly do not recommend Solar Scouts to anyone considering solar installation. I’m happy to share more details or my experience if it helps others avoid similar issues.

My friend showed me his system and introduced me to Nick. They made it super easy, I didn't pay anything to get started... got the first 6 months no payments... and now I have a lower electricity bill and backup power! and my bill can never increase again! Solar Scouts are awesome!

After $410k and almost a year the system still doesn’t produce as promised, permit has never been closed out, no call backs from nick. At least 10% of the panels don’t work and have never worked. Run from this guy.

Personally, I extend my highest recommendations to the Solar Scouts, their crew(s) and reps. They displayed fantastic customer service! Our rep, Hyrum, is extremely cordial and honest. The installation crew was prompt and professional. We are absolutely enjoying the money that we are saving! We'll done!
