I recently had solar panels installed on my home by OneGrid Energy and couldn't be more impressed. From start to finish, the entire process was handled with professionalism and efficiency. The team was knowledgeable, courteous, and made what could have been a stressful home improvement project feel seamless. What really stood out was their ability to work within a tight timeline. I had a deadline to meet in order to qualify for the federal solar tax credit, and OneGrid Energy delivered by completing the installation on time without any compromise to the quality of their work. The system has been performing great since day one and we are already seeing a return on our investment even on short winter days. I had a great experience installing solar with OneGrid. Being a local company, they really understand Rhode Island’s rebate and incentive process and handled everything for me, applying the rebates directly to the project cost. Their quote for both panels and a battery was already lower than other installers even before incentives. They were also flexible in accommodating extra requests like attic access, an electrical panel upgrade, and detailed breaker-level power monitoring. Their familiarity with the local permitting process helped move the installation forward faster than other installers suggested.

So we had a very challenging design (3x 15kW batteries, franklin a2 system/gate + 25kW solar generation) with about 50-60 panels/micro inverters, a V2H EV charger + a 48 breaker smart panel by SPAN) so most companies either: A) got confused and ran away B) tried to push different hardware that they understood (like Tesla batteries and string inverters), at a higher cost C) offered same hardware but MUCH higher price OneGrid has super smart electric engineers; and that is who you want designing things for your home. It is where you live, your family lives, get the best. And it’s rare that you save money and get higher quality, but this is one of those cases. Our system was immediately tested (big storm in New England feb 2026) after installation, and we got thru several outages, everything worked exactly as designed. We had friends going 40-60 hours without electricity, while we didn’t even notice any of the power outages. Can’t say enough good things about this company, they have a dedicated person for permits, design, inspections, etc. so everything goes very well with city and state. No surprises, which is what you want in a good construction project. Everything is planned well from when you sit at the table (or call in) and tell them what you want, until they are handing you the software and telling you how to operate your new system. Last note, the owner treats his employees very well! They get bonuses and vacations, so the crew we had, ALL master electricians! Not journeyman or apprentice.. not sure if they always do that or not, but my wiring and conduits are immaculate and impressively neat. Great company, compare their reviews (that’s why we picked them) to other companies and you will see that they always do a great job, and that’s who you want working on your house.
