Yes. Solar panels still produce electricity on cloudy days, although production may be lower compared to bright sunny days. Solar systems are designed using your area's weather patterns and annual sunlight exposure.
A standard solar system will shut down during a power outage for safety reasons. To keep your home powered during an outage, you need an energy storage system such as a battery backup paired with your solar system.
Most quality solar panels are designed to last 25–30+ years. While production may slowly decrease over time, modern panels continue producing energy well beyond their warranty period.

Solar systems require very little maintenance. Occasional cleaning, system monitoring, and professional inspections can help ensure your system continues operating efficiently.

Amazing company run by amazing people

My first experience with Caballero’s Electric was in 2023. The installation went smoothly, and they took the liberty to paint the conduits to match our exterior stucco. The crew was polite, and cleaned up after the job was completed. The office was always available when I called (worst case I would leave a message and they would call me back within an hour). I did a lot of research, read the warranties, and understood pricing. One thing is for certain after getting multiple bids: price varies drastically depending on company. Not because of equipment, but because of the mark up to cover administrative and soft costs. Caballero’s Electric is a pure contractor, dedicated to southern Nevada, and their pricing was transparent, and significantly lower than a popular, nationwide company I won’t name. Equipment and warranties were the same- if not better. I went with Enphase. Recently one of my inverters went down (2026), and I reached out to Caballero’s again. Sure enough, the same office manager answered warmly, and scheduled a technician to come inspect the inverter the next day. Within a week, a new one was swapped in. Honestly well deserved success and wish nothing but the best for this company. Hope this helps solar shoppers.

Best Solar and Electric company in Las Vegas

I have been customer of Caballero's Electric for a couple years already and they have always performed above and beyond. Not only the quality of work, but also their customer management has been incredible. I would recommend anyone thinking on getting solar or in need of electrical jobs to go to them. Thanks Caballero's Electric!

Traditional Business Values

Why the title of “Traditional Business Values” you might ask. My review of Caballero’s Electric is NOT ONE experience, but SEVERAL experiences of professionalism, attention to details, and honoring of their responsibilities for completing the job correctly. As a side note, my wife and I are in our 70’s and finding a company that holds Traditional Business Values is important. My relationship started with a need to have my solar system removed from the roof of my house so that I could reroof. Speaking to Joe Yousef was my first contact. He had received my info from a 3rd party and when I called him, he was able to discuss my needs as if I had spoken to him originally. He was going to give me a quote on removing and replacing the solar system. In our discussion, Joe spoke of Caballero’s Electric as being a general contractor in which he could also bid on doing my reroofing. I accepted his invitation to have then quote the work. They arrived ON TIME and treated me with respect. They DID NOT attempt to up-sell me or tell me of problems that could or did not exist. When the quote was presented, I found it in the middle of the 3 quotes I had received, AND the quote included the removal and replacement of the solar system. Overall it was less cost than the top roofing only quote. Here is where I knew that the company was reputable. Honest sales person, NOT looking to earn a commission, and a company that only asked for a minimum deposit to start. I believe I only gave them 10% to start. This was my 1st experience with TRADITIONAL VALUES. As part of the contract signing, a schedule was set to complete the work. Work was started as promised! My 2nd experience with TRADITIONAL VALUES. While the two guys came out to remove the solar system, I learned that Daniel was part of the family that owns Cabalero’s Electric. Daniel and his crew removed and properly stored the solar panels so that they would NOT be in the way of the roofing crew. Experience 3. The weather did not cooperate with the planned starting of the reroofing. It took almost 3 weeks between removing the solar system and being able to start the roof work. Being that I have a solar system, my electric bill is reduced significantly each month. I spoke to my sales person to discuss that my electric bill would be higher due to the delays and he immediately spoke to the owner and was assured that additional costs of my electric billing would be covered by them. WOW! Experience 4. Roofing lasted about a week (I have lots of roof sq footage and an 8 on 12 pitch). When finished, Daniel’s father came to my home to deliver some materials. I thought he was the owner. I thought it was impressive that the owner would visit. Experience 5. When the roofing was completed, two issues came up. Lots of remaining nails, and an issue with the replacement of the vent caps on the ridge of the roof. This is when I met JORGE. He walked the property with his dad. This is when I found that Jorge is the owner of the company, and Daniel is his brother, and Dad works with him. A FAMILY OWNED BUSINESS. Experience 6. As Jorge and I walked the job, we discussed the correction of the cleanup and the correction of the roof vent. I completed the payment of the contract when he came out. He personally went over his warranty of his workmanship and materials, and assured me that until I am 100% pleased with the work that he is not finished with the job. In this meeting, he provided me with his direct phone number, for anything I might need. I found great confidence with this single gesture. Experience 7 During the solar system reinstall, a solar panel was broken due to a wind gust. As soon as I saw Daniel, he explained the issue and assured me it would be taken care of properly. Being that my system is 10 years old, matching solar panel replacements are very difficult to find. Jorge searched diligently to find a replacement panel. This took several weeks, BUT the communication from him was AMAZING. I received a text message and/or phone calls keeping me informed of his progress. Panels were found and installed immediately. It took a several more weeks to complete the roof issue. Again weather, being the majority of the problem. Again I found that family was handling the job. Experience 8 While completing the roofing, my wife and I decided to finish a paver project for our patio. Jorge has an Uncle that does this type work. When he quoted the job, he was exactly priced where I thought it should be. During the job, I asked for specific adjustments and they made them WITHOUT complaints and WITHOUT adjustment if the quote. Again only 10% of the quote was asked for at the start and the balance was due with my 100% approval of the work. Clean up was done the day after the completion of the work. Experience 9 Since the completion of the work, two additionally jobs developed. My son’s A/C needed replacing, and my sister’s A/C company quoted her something that was NOT a problem. Jorge has aligned his company with Carlos’s company. The quote for my son’s A/C was proper (as expected) and Carlos himself checked my sister’s A/C finding nothing wrong. He did not charge them for his visit. I just DON’T hear of this business practice in Las Vegas any more. Experience 10. What I have found to be true in working with Jorge and Caballero’s Electric is that he stands by his workmanship, he treats you fairly in pricing, he concerns himself with your satisfaction, and he aligns his company with others that honor his beliefs. Jorge told me early in our relationship that if he partners with a company, and they do poor work, he will correct it personally, and then stop using the poor company. I honestly believe, that should I call Jorge about anything issue on my projects, during the warranty periods, he will address them professionally and diligently in a timely manner. Thank you Jorge, Daniel, Luis, Miguel, Carlos, Joe, and Dad for your business’s experience with us. You treated us like family. As you can see I can easily rate it a 10 out of 10 and you can see Traditional Business Values still exist. Gary & Linda

Solar Panels

We had solar panels installed a few months ago, and we’ve been very happy with the results. The installation team was professional and completed the work on schedule.
