I notice only one review above... mine.. yet back then on another review website there were many who had the same complaint about noise from the generator (not the lovely shaped blades) from cogging, the lumpy thumps as each magnet passes the iron core of each bobbin. By design they all meet opposite at the same instant of rotation. I originally was so impressed by the outward design, the over-speed protection and their promotion that I foolishly bought a second one but it was the same. I even bolted the middle of a 1.8 metre flat car spring leaf to the generator with a 16kg weight each end just like some original aircraft anti vibration devices but that didnt reduce much humming noise. I then added three wire guy braces at 45 degrees incline that connected to 3 different heights up the 15 m wooden power pole but the pole still vibrated as much at certain speeds like before. That other review web site showed pics of padded pole damping by disgruntled users. Disheartened, I took it all down and have been solar since. The company was so pathetic in dodging my grievances. I'm surprised they are still in business. Unless the design has now changed e.g. the cogging effect is overcome, please dont go down the same track in believing they are quiet.

In 2011 I bought a 1kw Hummer generator and it was so noisy from the single phase generator from the cogging effect. It was so loud my neighbours 200 metres away complained and I had to shut it down so many time. It shook the very solid pole it was mounted on. I made 2 x 16 kg weights filled with lead and mounted them on a truck spring about 1.8 m long and that helped but not enough. The company suggested I installed it wrong. It cost me a lot of money and there was no refund. DONT BUY HUMMER SINGLE PHASE GENERATORS or maybe any of their products. They look good and should work nicely but not so. Also the brush mount was so small I replaced it '. It would produce more than 1kw at times.
