Complete Junk Requiring Constant Repair

I bought a new unit in 2021. It started having problems within one year and has not stopped. To date, it has leaked freon and required recharging multiple times per year. It has also gone through two compressors. This is from a unit that cost me just over 8k. It is complete junk. You'd be better off buying something from China, since you'll save money and won't have to deal with constantly paying for repairs. My unit leaks freon regularly enough that I believe this is a manufacturer defect, but of course climate master won't do anything since it is past the one year warranty. Notice how it's only a one year warranty instead of the typical 5 or 10 year? That's because climate master knows it is producing junk and doesn't want to be responsible for dealing with the absolute crap it produces. Avoid this company and take your business to someone that won't sell you junk and leave you to pay for constant repairs. My unit also breaks at least once per summer, so I'm typically without AC for a week and have to sleep in a room that's 86 degrees.

Costly Mistake

When we built our new home in 2013 our builder told us he thought going with a geothermal unit made sense, so we went with it. MISTAKE!!! Our system was made by Climate Master for Carrier. We have had nothing but problems since day one. The HVAC contractor made all kind of excuses about what was happening and refused to replace the unit. We should have sued him. Thousands of dollars later, we just found out we need a new evaporator coil for cool $3000. This will be the second time it’s been replaced. The unit has been under a service contract from the beginning. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING MADE BY CLIMATE MASTER!

Stay away from ClimateMaster, even if you live near their HQ

I've had the unfortunate experience of venturing into the highly touted world of Geothermal for the last 14 years. Its been one bad experience after another, and generally all do to ClimateMaster. I live in Oklahoma, not far from their manufacturing facility. In 2010 the rebates were on, and it seem to make sense to save their energy and money by going geothermal. Its done nothing but cost me and disappoint me. I'm on my 2nd ClimateMaster unit. I was convinced that the first unit was a dud due to poor installation, and plunged again. Now, I'm out of A/C, waiting to hear when ClimateMaster can come up with another new coil after only 5 years. These things are made to fail. Never buy one.

Terrible !!!!!!!!! DO NOT BUY THIS BRAND !!!

PLEASE, DO NOT BUY THIS BRAND !! Worst brand ever Since the minute it was installed I have had issues. I was told it was me that wanted my home too cold. Nope. I was only hoping for 76 degrees, sometimes even 77 and that is a very normal temperature ! This machine has been cleaned three times in one year new filters every month flushed about five times already and still doesn't work from one day to the next. PLEASE DON'T BUY. $7.000 later I still have a very crappy UNIT and my home is hot. So glad my ex-husband is not here or he would have broken that unit with a hammer. very upsetting to say the least ....

I do not recommend

Installed a climatemaster tranquility in 2018. Energy bill in the winter is about 20-30% less when compared to the electric heat we had before. AC is maybe 5-10% less. The problem is the frequency with which it needs service. Motherboard failed the first year ($85 service charge). Wires came loose in the second year ($85 service charge). Low pressure switch failed in the third year ($650 service charge). This is on top of paying for a service contract that involves a technician coming to the house twice a year to change the filter, and, evidently, do nothing else.

They absolutely suck!!!

I was sold a sorry piece of shit and promised the moon I ended up with a turd that sits in my basement and doesn’t work 90% of the time what an absolute piece of shit and that’s it’s better points if you want a $10,000 boat anchor feel free to buy one but it will only cost you about 700 to 800 a month in electric to keep the pile of crap going
