After reconsidering, talking with Rebecca and several years of trouble free operation, I thought I should write a new review to offset my earlier negative review. The installation went smoothly and the system has performed as anticipated, At this time Rebecca has been attentive in developing an upgrade to install battery backup. I look forward to working with Waldo again.
"Extreme Performance" was the energy benchmark for a new single family home in Stonington, Connecticut. Designed from the solar PV array down, the three bedroom, 2.5 bath house is also a Passive Solar design with geothermal heating, Heat Recovery Ventilation systems, a Thermomass® concrete shell and extensive green roofing.
Waldo Renewable came in on the recommendation of CM John O'Keefe, after the owner had disappointing experiences with the national rooftop solar firms. Mark redesigned the original 10Kw system to 12.15Kw while keeping costs down and the layout clean, then followed with fast and meticulous installation, inverter grid hookup and testing — while wiring an option for future storage batteries.
What began as a "net-zero capable" home is now a "net-plus" home, and the owners are thrilled. Waldo Renewable Electric LLC should get six stars!
Mark and Rebecca of Waldo Renewable lives and work have a consistent ethic - that is to help create a resilient and sustainable world. It is enthralling to meet a company and individuals whose personal and corporate goals are consistent with one another. The residential solar array they installed on my home was done in a professional manner and both Mark and Rebecca were, and continue to be a pleasure to deal with.
Waldo renewable installed my homes solar system and had it up and running in a week! They were with me every step of the way. The commitment to the environment and their customers was evident from the start. The business was up to date on all the latest rebates and programs available as well as which system would work best for our home.
Waldo Renewable's installation of our Solar array was an extremely pleasant experience from start to finish. They are a local installer known and active in the community. They met at the site to preliminary discuss the options and promptly followed with a very competitive proposal in which everything was clearly spelled out. The construction schedule was followed to a tee and it was enjoyable to follow the installation progress. Their interface with the electric company and building officials went very smoothly. Work proceeded in a neat, orderly and timely fashion and we were updated every day on its progress. The system, a rack mounted ground array located in a distant field away from our house, is exactly as they described and produces 80 kwh on a spring sunny day, which meets its design. We would highly recommend Mark and Rebecca Waldo, both of whom are extremely knowledgeable and passionate about solar energy, for any solar array installation.
My experience with Waldo Renewable was excellent overall. Mark Waldo is a superior electrician, well versed in both building codes and electrical theory, who took the time to address my concerns and specific requests regarding my installation. The finished product reflects obvious efforts to balance aesthetic concerns with maximum production.
